Terry Mixon
Emperor Mongoose
It wouldn’t be if they actually verified the builds by the rules in High Guard. All too many of them (most?) don’t match up. They can’t be rebuilt and get the same numbers. That wouldn't be a bad thing.

That is obvious to Me, but perhaps you are correct, I should have stated that more clearly. It wouldn’t be if they actually verified the builds by the rules in High Guard. All too many of them (most?) don’t match up. They can’t be rebuilt and get the same numbers.
It should have been obvious to them, too, so I thought it bore repeating. That is obvious to Me, but perhaps you are correct, I should have stated that more clearly.
I always do, but none of Us should have to. Ships printed in the books should always obey the rules.Always recalculate the maths of any spacecraft design you intend to use.
I'm curious, are you saying the CRB should drop ship construction and combat in favour of purchasing another $50 book? So, I would need both the CRB and HG to build ships? Currently all I need is HG to build ships, with the exception of Mongoose sprinkling rules all over the damn place in random spots of random books.
They did for MgT 2e, people didn't like it. So the 2022 update has enough ship construction to slap together a basic ACS.I'd strip Core of that, and just list premade spacecraft.

Combat, no. The CRB needs to have ship combat in order to play Traveller. Ship construction rules though, are not required to play the base game. Ship construction rules are kind of a sub-game all on their own that meshes with the ship combat system in the CRB. Putting fleet combat rules in HG makes sense since fleet combat isn't part of the "base game" either. It is just My opinion, but I don't think that the CRB should have any construction rules in it. All it needs are the rules to play the base Traveller RPG, including ship combat rules and some pre-made equipment, vehicles, and ships. After that, ship construction is in HG along with some other ship-related stuff, vehicle construction is in the VH along with expanded vehicle-related stuff, etc...I'm curious, are you saying the CRB should drop ship construction and combat in favour of purchasing another $50 book?
Why are you using WBH to design, deploy and use Robots? Robots hardly get a mention in this book. Specifically mentions "robots" in a categoric way to interpret TL and P codes of the UWPs. Nothing else mentioned.CRB, HG, V, WBH, AE, R, CSC - $350 please...
Think of it as a 'Tree of Knowledge': CRB is the main trunk of knowledge. The other optional books are the optional branches of specialism, that build upon the trunk knowledge attributes to create the foundation of understanding design and their lore of fictional operation. Referees could mimic attributes from the CRB and create their own designs, without resorting to procedures and steps prescribed in sourcebooks.CRB, HG, V, WBH, AE, R, CSC - $350 please...
I'm not, there is a comma. Why are you using WBH to design, deploy and use Robots? Robots hardly get a mention in this book. Specifically mentions "robots" in a categoric way to interpret TL and P codes of the UWPs. Nothing else mentioned.
You should be able to play Traveller using nothing but the core rule book, which should be at a minimum as comprehensive as LBB:1-3Think of it as a 'Tree of Knowledge': CRB is the main trunk of knowledge. You can play Traveller right now with just the CRB. Shipbuilding, vehiclebuilding, even fleet combat, is all in addition to the base Traveller game, which is roleplaying, not construction or wargaming. So, they have books for people who want to do more than just roleplay, but for those who only wish to roleplay, they have the CRB.I'm not, there is a comma.
The number of books to cover all the rules are the Core Rule Book , High Guard , Vehicles , World Builder's Handbook , Animal Encounters , Robots , Central Supply Catalogue.

Go play T5. They have exactly that. Why do you want to make MgT into T5?LBB:1 character generation, situation throws, combat
LBB:2 ship operations, ship construction, ship combat, computers, drugs, trade, experience
LBB3: planet building, encounters, ecosystems, equipment, psionics
*puts on dubious face* Can people actually play T5? Seems like an uphill climb.Go play T5. They have exactly that. Why do you want to make MgT into T5?
I am not smart enough to even understand T5. Although the book titles match up pretty well to what Sig is talking about.*puts on dubious face* Can people actually play T5? Seems like an uphill climb.
Not a good breakdown. What setting for the 3rd book? Traveller is a system, not a setting. No setting material should exist in the CRB.Core should be about character building.
Second book, gear and bestiary.
Third, setting.
