Capt. Griffin, being closer to the distributor doesn't really help.
The BF:EVO product will ship out on Friday, per Alliance Game Distributors ship date, 2/16. That means deliveries next week. Note that Eagle and Empire is "only" 50 some odd miles away from their Maryland warehouse. 50 miles is considered "close" by American standards. Even that isn't good enough for next day delivery.
Since AGD doesn't ship to deliver on a Saturday I don't see how the store can get delivery on Saturday if the game store really wants it. I should note that there is no way in hell that a game store is going to pay for next day shipping even if it was offered, btw. The margin on the product isn't discounted enough to make up for that.
Anyway, it's pretty common for Mongoose product to be about 1 week later than their published delivery date to or from the distributors. Happens every time.
I should note that this is a combination of factors, most of which are the distributors fault, not Mongoose:
1. Product turnaround in the warehouse can be slow
2. Shipping is limited
3. Mongoose announces shipping to _distributors_ or maybe the shipping from a distributor? But not a published "Shelf date" at retailers, unlike many other companies. Ref: Privateer Press, Wizards, Wizkids, etc. I would not consider this a "problem" but since what MP announces is not the industry norm (in the US anyway) it confuses people.
4. Not directly related but it's a rant I can't let go: Distributors never seem to order enough product, shorting retailers PREORDERS a lot of the time.
I really appreciate Mongoose Product and services but don't dump this one on retailers not stepping up or simply "chance" location. Go after the distributor to turnaround product faster or ship from the mfg so that distributors can ship out to retailers getting it that same week or simply change your published street date from "distributor reception" to "shelf date"; if you'd like to make a difference.
EDIT: If you think people go crazy driving in snow, try the ICE we had to deal with this morning in the DC area. Nuts man, just nuts. At least it got above freezing but tonight I'm not sure the chemicals will keep the roads that are clear, clear.
