Mercenary & vehicle weapons

Banded Mongoose
Any plans for a Mercenary book? I feel the need for some more vehicle/heavy weapons.
The ones we've got so far are OK but the variety seems a bit limited (even allowing for the vehicles & equipment catalogue).
What I'd like to see is a set of weapons to cover anti-tank, artillery, guided missiles etc at each tech level.

Cheers, Iggy.

A new mercenary book has been discussed recently. . .

I think the mercenary book has been the hardest one to get right. Running a detailed mercenary campaign is difficult because it involves a lot of accounting, which may not interest those involved. Merchant campaigns are easier because the accounting comes as an expectation.

I dont know that any of the versions have really addressed mercenaries well, other than that they exist in the OTU. Using local troops is cheap, but moving troops through space is very expensive. Hiring fighting ships even more so.

But everyone likes more ironmongery, so I hope more weapons are included.

Thanks for the link OS.

I'm not so concerned about a Merc campaign as such - like you say, everyone likes hardware...

Perfect opportunity to revamp the miniatures combat rules from Vanguard with less expensive/POD counters ala the old Avalon Hill games.

Great idea re Vanguard.

I want to be able to recreate the vehicles from Striker e.g. Tl15 Marine Grav APC, which is an absolute beast - current weapons just don't do it justice.

Just a thought - the weapon design sequences from Striker could be used... hmm. But anyway, I'd still like to see some MGT2 official hardware.
