Mongoose
Hi,

I would like to see a rusty/battered T-62 for the African warlords as they would not have uptodate equipment.

Also in the full rules I would like to see Vehicles having different hit locations and armour for each location.

eg:- Locations Turret or Hull

and for each location armour value for Front/side/rear and maybe even top as some of the newer A/T missiles attack the top of thye vehicle.

Then have different damage tables to see if the vehicle is destoyed or some part eg gun is now longer working.

You could have one for hull hits and one for turret hits.

It would also be nice to have tank crew figures and roll to see if any get out if the vehicle is hit. you could also use them if the crew fail a marole test and abandon the vehicle, once they know its safe they could get back in.

Rich.

Don't get to into the details. For every step of detail you add the more book keeping and TIME it takes to play even the simple things. The ONLY thing that matters in a game is if you killed the thing you are shooting at. It not keeps going. If you take a tank the crew gets out. Just think, you have just been shot by an enemy with a weapon powerful enough to disable your tank. You leave ASAP because it only takes 2 seconds to load and fire a 120mm cannon by hand and less than 1 second if you have an auto loader. So it doesn't matter the exact location and amour if. You take the mean armour and the average penetration to see if you destroy your target, that’s all you need to have a fun and paced game that you can play several games in a day instead of just one. Don't forget about playability!!

Good points all around, though I'd have to point out this line of yours here. From what I've gathered, autoloaders tend to be slower than well-trained human loaders. Granted, people will be more variable in speed than machines, but are overall usually faster.

Well, that and if your autoloader breaks down, it's not a simple repair job... if your human loader breaks down, the commander can fill in...
