Traveller Release Schedule 2025

Will the updated vehicle rules have any effect on the vehicle book for 2300 AD?
An awful lot of the vehicle update will be applicable. And for adventurer purposes in 2300, the example vehicles will be usable. To adapt a TL-10 ATV, you just need to slap a 2300 name on it [the 'Mule Corp Aurochs Model 3 Excursion Vehicle' or something]

Another author has done a lot with Spica Sector, and I'd hate to see their work get invalidated in one go. But Hinterworlds-Leonidae would be thought....
I think my vote is for Gvurrdon and Ziafrplians getting updated.

Or the Vland/Lishun double sector. (Vland seem too important in the universe for not having a sector book).

But +1 for any double sector book within the Imperium, the Vargr Extents or the Solomani Confederation

Where can I find more from this author about Spica?

While I don’t disparage the people doing spica it’s obvious that their work is really for their own universe and not set in the MgT2 setting. Since the work is specifically done for the “Other Veil Universe “ and is not a part of the charted space setting. The map doesn’t follow the Traveller Map so I have no problem with mongoose doing that sector. Again I don’t have anything against Spica publishing I’m looking for a sector that actually fits the charted space setting with Hivers and other races and uses MgT2

From the description of their core book “ Written by Omer Golan-Joel with Richard Hazlewood, with art by David Redington and Michael Thomas, Outer Veil is a completely new game universe for Traveller, set in 2159 AD in the space around Sol.” so no they haven’t done anything for the Charted Space Spica

Spica sector was developed for the OTU during the T20 era. It began as an interested group project and was developed into a sector supplement. It was most definitely set in the Third Imperium era.

As to the purity of MgT sectors...

But is there an actual product that you can buy? Not interested in 'alternative' settings.

I don't know what happened to the Spica setting once the T20 shenanigans and licence sunsets took place. Most of it was in shared files, I don't even know if there was a final "product". I lost track of the project after a while.

From 'This is Free Trader Beowulf':

2008: Spica Publishing announced their plans to release a Spica Sector sourcebook at exactly the wrong time, as the Long Night was just ending and rights for publishing in the OTU were being gathered close.

However, Spica may have found their biggest success when they moved from universal publications to detailing their own Alternate Traveller Universe (ATU) setting, Outer Veil (2011), written by Omer Golan-Joel with Richard Hazlewood. It was a near-future science-fiction setting of humanity reaching out to explore the Frontier. It would be the main focus of Spica’s publication through 2014 when they closed up shop after producing a few adventures set in the Outer Veil

Did you bother to read the quote from the actual product that I posted? No you didn’t you didn’t even bother clicking on the link that was provided. Maybe at least click on the link next time before you start telling people that they are wrong

He was asking about the Spica Sector, not the Spica company. Your link to drivethru was... less than relevant.
I helped write Spica so take your petulance elsewhere. I still have the maps I worked on and several of the sector history and world documents. Some of it may still be available via links at CotI but the most polished stuff ended up on a dedicated web site which appears to have gone the way of the dodo.

So since we made it clear that the spica products are not in the charted space setting I think a Double Sector book including Spica would definitely be more than acceptable
You are talking out of lack of knowledge. The Spica Sector project was an online project by a goup of us. Over time people came and went. The original plan was to have a sector supplement.
My involvement ended around 2007 when, for very personal reasons, I took a long break from CotI and the Traveller community.
Some of those involved used the name Spica for the company they formed, but sadly due to the turmoil of the T20 licence going away and other licencing changes at the time those folks still involved decided to make an alternative setting.
Now take your ignorance and learn from people who were actually there at the time.

Soi got a question: Vehicle Handbook Update 2025. It's listed as completely rewritten--will it be compatible with robots for the inclusoin of robot brains and such?
