well you might as well say you get 2 fresh battle points and whoever wins game 1 gets a raid level of pts same as game 2
and to heck with the damage points bonus
 
Or just say you have 1 armageddon pt of ships to star 1st game 2 battle 2nd game other 2 battle pts. Final game 2 battle points from anywhere. All fleet decisions made after knowing what race your opponent will be playng. I think this would would work and still retain that campaign feel. Just my opinion though.
 
This is only a suggestion, but instead of reinforcements, why not issue repair points after each game?

Each player will get 1 'Battle' point of repair after each game - regardless of winning or losing. Winners of course will get more points.

That way, after each game the player can either get back a single Battle class ship, 2 Raid, etc. but only from his fleet listing.

So in the final game, he will have at least one battle point on the field, plus anything he has left over.

As a caveat, I would add that you only get repair points if your ships are damaged, just in case someone plays and takes no damage at all.

Also, the player could mix and match the points such that he can use them to repair ships he still has up to full strength or pick fresh ones.

Example - During the first game a player loses a Primus and a Sulust, but has left 2 badly damaged Demos.

If he repairs both the Demos up to full strength - Then he only has one Raid point left from his Battle point repairs, so he can't bring back the Primus, but he can now bring back the Sulust.

I don't mind which way round the rules end up, so long as a decision gets made soon. It affects what ships I paint.
 
Here's another suggestion to keep it simple. Make the initial fleet 5 Battle. Then games 1 and 2 are 2 Battle. So everyone will have something left for the final game.
 
if i take an Amu, can i split it's contents off into the two smaller battles wher the mo-ship itself cannot be fielded?
 
well thats not fair, I can't play the first two games now, I've already lost, should i just send my entry fee in the post and a polaroid of my "lost again" face? :?
 
Well if it does change to 5 battle, you could take an Amu and have 1 battle point left over for the first 2 games ;) Just don't die!

That's a great idea. With the pack as it stands currently, I was having real problems building a decent Dilgar fleet. 1FAP Arm in total makes it very difficult building 2x 2FAP Battle fleets which have any hope of working.

Right, we are trial a 5 battle format on sunday so I will be able to give an absolute final format decision on monday.
 
After several more games today and following discussion within the Sentient Rabbits team we are making the following changes:

All games will be 1pt Armageddon, 12 Ship Limit

Winner of the first game gets a free roll on the appropriate refit table for 1 ship.

A No Retreat caveat is in place in all games to ensure that big ships don't Blat & Run.

does the 12 ship limit include carried ships... i mean ok, i can only manage 13 ships with one arm point but that one ship could be important!
 
Is this the final decision on the fleets now?
