whats the options for 1 pt Arm? are we defo using the fleet book FAP?
And are we allowed to buy back up the breakdown in the fleet book, i.e 2 Raid for 1 Battle...

Tank,

With regards to fleet choices, I am assuming the FAP Book and you would like to have a copy of our fleet lists prior to the game?

Kind Regards

Digger.

In regards to fleet breakdown and composition, further Tank, TGT, Adam and my self’s discussion this Sunday after a few games of ACTA, the plans are as follows:-

You will have 1 Armageddon point's worth of ships in your fleet, selected as per the Fleet lists... however, the first two games will be played as 2 point Battle scenarios, and all ships selected must come from your initial fleet selection. Therefore the smallest fleet you can realistically take is 2 War. Damage is cumulative during the tournament, but you can choose to select some of the same ships for the first two games *if* you wish to. The third battle will be held using all of your surviving fleet.

The first scenario will allow the winner to repair up to 25 points of damage and crew after each game, and the winner of the second scenario will be allowed to replace one or more destroyed ships that can be bought with a Raid FAP before the last game. Fighters also cost 1 point of damage each to purchase if destroyed, or can be bought with the resupply point as wings up to the number lost from ships... additional fighters bought in this way are lost.

The final scenario will be assassination, and all tables will have pre-placed terrain for Shadows and short range ships in general to lurk behind... watch out!

Therefore, your main fleet must comprise of either:-

2 War
1 War, 2 Battle
1 War, 1 Battle, 2 Raid
1 War, 1 Battle, 1 Raid, 2 Skirmish
1 War, 1 Battle, 1 Raid, 1 Skirmish, 2 Patrol
4 Battle
3 Battle, 2 Raid
3 Battle, 1 Raid, 2 Skirmish
3 Battle, 1 Raid, 1 Skirmish, 2 Patrol
8 Raid
7 Raid, 2 Skirmish
7 Raid, 1 Skirmish, 2 Patrol
12 Skirmish
11 Skirmish, 2 Patrol
18 Patrol

While the fleets used in the first two games will either be:-

1 War
2 Battle
1 Battle, 2 Raid
4 Raid
3 Raid, 2 Skirmish
8 Skirmish
7 Skirmish, 2 Patrol
16 Patrol

Obviously, if you take a fleet comprised of a large number of low priority ships, you will have to use them extremely carefully, as if you lose them early in the tourney, you will be unable to field full fleets in the second and last games. Hopefully, most fleets will be made up of 9 or fewer ships, as the point split and survivability of most Raid and higher priority level ships makes them obvious selections.

There are certain selections of skirmish or lower priority that are still extremely survivable for their level, though (particularly most Drazi skirmish ships, the T'Rakk, Milanis, ect.) so some swarm fleets may make an appearance, but don't blame me if they get eaten by a hungry 4 Elutarian fleet ;-)

Tournament pack will be ready soon... would have had it done by now, but I'm house sitting for my sister this week and have no access to a PC there... have quickly popped home to post this, but will probably not be online again before Saturday, when I should have a full day at home to get the 'pack written up and completed to a high standard.

If anyone has any additional questions, please send them to Tank, as he would love to hear from you!

Cheers,

Jim

Oh! forgot one thing... we're thinking of allowing the two battle level scenario's ships to be selected after the opponent is known (helping you to tailor your fleet slightly if you end up facing Gaim or the like that needs a bit of specialization to have a chance of competing against on an even footing)

Anyone have any objection to this?

How are self repairing ships affected? Do they heal it all?

also from the 'first two games' options you seem to have missed out the option of 1 Battle 1 Raid 2 Skirmish and 1 Battle 1 Raid 1 Skirmish 2 Patrol

Any particular reason or just an oversight?

A complete oversight on my part... that's what comes from posting in a hurry!

I've done the Tournament pack... but it's a big, tall jpg as I don't have the ability to turn it into an acrobat PDF on this PC. If anyone can, I would really appreciate the help!

If anyone would like a copy of the document, please PM me your email address and I'll send it to you!

Cheers,

Jim

I can, or you can install PrimoPDF to do it for you (good and free program)
