Fedayeen are more in the line of extremely down for the struggle. But, they are not suicidal. Hell, today's combat is all about suppression!!! You get in a firefight, and the point is to win the struggle for suppression. Doing so then enables you to manuveur for the kill.

Like I said, I know it is a game mechanic, so I can live with it. (After all it is just a game)., but don't attempt to justify the game machanic with the real world, it just makes you look silly.

Well said Old Soldier, well said.

Oh, and EP, that "duck" almost made me fall out of my chair. Good thing I wasn't taking a drink or I'd charge you for the new keyboard!

No offense, but that goes both ways, others said the game mechanic bore no real world relevance, so shouldn't exisit (or should be down powered). Thats just as silly.....

Not really, the whole object of a miniature game that is based on history or what if history, is to Supend Belief. If a rules seem too outrageous, then players question it's inclusion.

and I was saying I don't see the rule as silly, as from my historical intrest I have heard and read about troops marching fearlessly into oncomming fire power that to my mind would suppress anyone, but still they did it. So the rule makes sense to me, and those who argue against what i see as historical examples are being as you put it silly.

Belief what you want, some think Elvis is still alive too.

After finding the stats on the Fedayeen. I find the troops even more unbelievable!

Each rifleman is carrying the equivalent of a modern IED!!!!! :? How is that possible?? Maybe a powered down attack.... Maybe, ah hell I give up. I know, I know, it is only a game mechanic,..........

Just call them orks, spacemarines, eldar, ect and get it over with.

How is it possible for them to be carrying a weapon that's cobbled together from either artillery-shells or other conventional explosives? I wonder....

Yep! That is the point, they would have been planted before the battle!!!!

i do feel their anti tank ability is a bit sky high !!! more effective than a 1klb bomb by the looks of it !!!!

Yes and no, if you survive long enough and get close enough to a tank they are supposedly (never done it myself) fairly easy to take out if you have the right tools and the knowledge. Simply smashing a molotov cocktail over the engine grate was reported to be causing the Ahbrams quite a few problems in Iraq a couple of years ago.

I am not exactly sure what an IED is supposed to be (personally I think they are just another weapon of mass distraction dreamt up by the White House to make sure people know who the bad guys are), but I am fairly sure a coke(tm) bottle filled with petrol and a burning rag in its neck is what I would call an improvised explosive device.......

Just out of intrest where are the stats for the Feds, I have seen Hiro's card before but can't find the correct link *GRRR*

I'm not down with the whole, moble IED thing going on with these fellow, nor the immune to suppression thing.

Fedayeen are fellows that are completely down for the struggle. I think of them as ignoring the 1st suppression, working in small fireteams. I would have had sniper with a rifleman as a team, and the advantage to having up to two more snipers with a rifleman as a team.

Since the stats state you can up to 2 more snipers, OR At-14, (doesn't say, but I assume any combo of the two), then you have much more flexiblity than the militia. Doubt you would even have to change the points.

Forget the IED thing, better to have that as part of a scenario.
