Conan RPG Still Being Published?

I noticed that the Previews for some of the upcoming books were taken down.

Is Conan RPG Still Being Published? Are New Books for the Setting still being developed?

I've sent several emails asking this question to Mongoose and I've never received a reply.

Can someone fill me in on this?

Conan RPG is still being published by the 'Goose but the next new product will not be out until November 2009. In addition to the new product there is some kind of spectacular new direction/format/news that will accompany the new Conan RPG product.

Conan RPG 3.0? Maybe. We don't know yet. Take a look further down the forum and the speculation is fierce.

Matt seems to have killed the idea of new edition/new system. Other than that, the field seems open. But the "good news" is "only" 3 months away. For the gods of games that is practicaly tommarrow, but us lesser mortals see it

If only they could release it under the Runequest system, heh.......

Still, then the d20 fans would revolt. We have a lot, and I mean a lot of fun with Conan at the conventions.

Always a rocking good time. Though it can be Exceptionally loud with our primary Conan Guy and Myself in the same room.

I personally think they are going to shut the game down...on a company as big as Mongoose one doesn't stop production on a game like this for months and hope to have people still buy stuff for it...of course I'm taking the glass is completely empty approach :) Sniff..sniff...good bye Conan

Not very likely, as Matt has posted that it will be something fans will like, and that Vincent will be, or is, or maybe not working on it. I dont see them needing Vincent to shut it down. Nor that Matt would outright Lie to us. Just doesnt seem to be his style.

Conan is going nowhere. He is just having a slight pause for reasons which will soon be very obvious.

.....Conan 4E under the GSL????

Only if the Mongoose team swallowed a bottle of stupid pills. A Conan 4e would directly conflict with Matt's earlier statements that the OGL fans would be happy.

Aside from that. 4e, does not have the mechanics to represent Conan faithfully. It would be a move backwards from even the MMO. Need GRIT for Conan. Not Glitz, Foil covers, and Board Game mechanics.

You have pretty much the same with the 3.5 mechanics, only that Mongoose cannot afford the foil covers, for the rest, it's quite the same stereotyped combo based boardgaming crap. To my eyes D&D 3.5 and 4th ed are very close, at least in spirit...

As you see it's only a matter of point of view...

I'm not sure why there should be anything more published for Conan.

Seriously, I love the game and the products, but after a point it's all saturated.

OK sure you could draft up another version of Super Skrolls of Skelos or the Back Alleys of Shadizar, or... well you get the point.

Right now, I think the best stuff out there is coming from the fans like www.hyboria.xoth.net

Seriously how many more country guides do you need?
You're either a GM or a player:
meaning you should be creative (if your a GM) or you should be surprised if you're a player (with so many city guides eventually your player will well know to avoid the Street of Crossed Daggers, because he read the supplement the GM was reading too!).

Just my two cents.

We have enough when there is in print a guide for every country, and every city. Also a Big NPC book for major badguys. And one that is full of stat blocks for every sort of NPC you can run into.

And adventure mods, as well as campaign ones.

Slight....pause...??? More like big gaping pause

Well said Sedric - as of today it has been 72 days since the upcoming products has been yanked off the schedule - and it has been even longer since the last Conan supplement went on sale.

Plus even if the next Conan product comes out on November 1st it will have been 121 days since Conan was yanked off the schedule.

One quarter plus of no Conan. Slight pause?

With the new Fantasy Craft rules coming out which is based on Spycraft which is a D20 type game. I am thinking that might be the direction Conan is going.

Fantasy Craft might be marketed as Mongooses fantasy game and Conan it's first setting for it, so to speak.

Just seems interesting the timing of Matt saying it should be obvious soon and that books now coming out.

Actually from my understanding of things we are not going to see any Conan products in November, just the news on what direction Conan will be going in the State of Mongoose post, and nothing new will be released till 2010. But I may be wrong.
