Way of the Tiger Gamebooks

Lycanthus

Mongoose
I think these gamebooks by Mark Smith and Jamie Thomson. I don't know how feasible it would be to get the rights to these books as there are allusions to Fighting Fantasy characters and the world of Orb.

I have no idea if Wizard have any say in these books but I do think they would be a great compliment to the Lone Wolf books - especially if there were Collector's Editions! :)

I loved Way of the Tiger, especially the Overlord and Warmonger books, but I'm out unless they rewrite the ending of Book Six. That ending nearly ruined the whole series for me.

Mark Smith and Jamie Thomson did another series together called Falcon which also had a lousy ending to the series. Not a great way to do things when people have paid money for 6 seperate books.

What did you think of the Grey Star The Wizard series?

Desperately wanted the Falcon books when I was wee but couldn't afford them along with all the Fighting Fantasy, Lone Wolf and Way of the Tiger books! I heard they weren't that great in general. I take you liked them.

As far as the Grey Star books go I hadn't really heard of them when I was younger and have (up until now!) never played them - but i will! :)

Having the GS series republished by Mongoose would be great. After all, it is set in the same universe than the LW series, plus we know that the character of GS will make a cameo in one of the last four books.

My RuneQuest games have been set in the world of Orb for 20 years now...
Well, more like Orb with Gloranthan overtones to be fair. Also got some homebrew maps if anyone is interested?

I went back and read the entire 6 book series, and I don't think the authors even had a chance to finish the last book properly. The story is shorter than normal, and the way you get to the ending ends makes no sense. I'm wondering if the publisher pulled the plug on them while they were still writing the book and just decided to release the book the way it was.

One thing I learned (the hard way): Beware of any woman named Foxglove.
