Suggestion Power (Drinax Spoilers)

How long does the Suggestion power remain in the mind of the target?

For example, in the Second Drinax adventure Marine Salvesdes (pg 12) was conditioned by hroal Irontooth's Telepath. He has to follow the orders and plan of Hroal Irontooth and break every oath and turn on his fellow soldiers.

This would be a good example of a long term Suggestion, or several of them. It also offers Players a dangerous method of infiltration. Suggestion against a lackey or hireling to enable access, or even just to carry out an assassination could short circuit a lot of adventures.

Any Suggestions regarding the Suggestion Power? What can it do? Hor long does it last? How involved can the Suggestion be?
 
From long term experience of real world hypnosis, I've got clients who still respond to post-hypnotic triggers, years after they have been implanted. And that's just with real-world mundane hypnosis.

A psion could potentially have Manchurian candidates doing his bidding years after the implantation. Look at what Bester did to Garibaldi - some light psionic surgery, a block on his memory, and a backup behavioural lock called an Asimov, which kicked in almost two years after the initial telepathic operation.
 
As for how involved it can be - I've implanted some pretty involved and complex triggered behaviours, including full sensory hallucinations, memory loss, behavioural locks, even hormonal changes and physiological controls.

A psion with this power could accumulate power very quickly, if he were canny and studied physiology and psychology to back up his telepathic insights into the human mind.
