Drinax Campaign Treasure Ship (Spoilers)

884 – King Oleb XIV of the Star Dragon Empire of Sindal in Exile (I.e.: Drinaxian Empire) places a 20% tax on all trade between the Third Imperium and Aslan Hierate that passed through the kingdom.

This is what causes the bombardment the next year of Drinax by the Ahroay'if clan.

PoD Trojan Reach
I am re-reading this comment from September of last year and hoping it's not prophetic of current events IRL!

6000 Cr per ton is the figure in the Treasure ship adventure. Clans of the Aslan has the very best of Romer Dust Spice (A1) at 11,000 Cr per KG, and the worst (D?), from elsewhere, at 500 Cr per KG. Therefore it made sense to convert the 6000 Cr per ton from the adventure to 6000 Cr per KG. 6000 Cr per KG probably means that it is Romer Dust Spice, but not the very best. You could say that one of those 120 tons is the top A1 grade. That ton would make great presents for Aslan dignitaries or allies, or would be just what the "Alley Cat" is looking for to blackmail / poison Aslan nobility!
regardless, I want the successful result of any adventure where my players acquire a "Treasure Ship" to be a complete change in scale of their power IMTU. I would only introduce it at a point where they have scrapped by a long enough time as tramp traders or petty pirates. After they get this, now they are in the big leagues, well, at least big compared to where they were at. It's not going to be a "You get middle passage and a free meal at the starport" sort of reward. It will certainly not be so scaled down that they basically are expected to just go back to their regular level of adventuring but just with a few shiny doo-dads added to their gear list.

This thread was 8 pages of what boiled down to "I want the value to be higher" "OK, make it higher then" "But it should be way higher!" "Well it's your universe make it what you like" etc etc

With a lengthy quibble about where navy ships are built and, in the genuine highpoints:

- notes on the proper values of dustspice (showing that the version in Treasure Ship has the Imperium selling dustspice cut with cleaning products on the ship if the price was right)
- an excellent piece of maths showing that the source writers had no real conception of the volume of trade they're asserting (total Aslan<->trade being less than a fifth of the value of a single TL15 battleship).

Sounds about normal for this forum. ;)

... with a little bit of a sarcastic thread summary at the end that sounded a bit like whining and whinging about "too many posts on the same thread about the same thing". ;)

They did get a bit repetitive after the same post for three pages straight, yes. But my reply wasn't sarcastic in any way. I meant exactly what I said, devoid of irony or acerbity. The two posts I mentioned specifically genuinely did justify the occasional drudgery.

Yeah, but can we talk more about how we should make the reward higher? I think it should be a bit higher.
