Rouen sourcebook?

Mongoose
I notice that both this book and The Hoffman Legacy for Deus Vult have vanished without a trace. This setting could really do with some support. Get them ready for publication and you'll get a couple of pre-orders from me right away.

If sales were not good enough, I bet they were cut. Mongoose is pretty ruthless about that (which incidentally, makes me loathe to buy into their newer games).

We are very keen on Deus Vult, and there will be more publications for it. However, a writer dropped out of doing Rouen, and we are currently looking for a replacment.

I would accept this point, but for one thing. Show me one other company that would do things differently...

Agreed. I would rather have a company killing low-sale games than going out of business altoghether trying to maintain stuff that few buy.

This.

Matt and the team, whilst they undoubtedly love their gaming, have got to make money, otherwise they wouldn't be in business. Would you rather have Mongoose go belly up and have a few folk support there lines via fan sites and Indie Publishing? Or a proper game company with some really good products?

I can't speak for the gaming industry, but running your own business is hard work and at least here in Australia, unless you're extremely successful, it's not for a lot of cash.

That's what the fan community is for - we can write the stuff that would make a company go bust.

It doesn't matter to me if I spend 6 months writing something that 10 people buy, for example, but several of those could kill a company.

Same, although I don't sell my stuff (yet at least). Earning cash is what I have my Engineering degree for.

Btw Mr. Sprange - will Pirates of Legend arrive in the beginning or the end of June (pdf version) ?

I am currently researching and writing Port Royal for a campaign I plan to start, and am eager to get to rulechanges since MRQ1, so I can implement them :)
