Traders and gunboats are present in their tens and hundreds of thousands throughout the universes Traveller, and are amongst the most common ships found on the spacelanes. This book gives you more than 70 new ships in this class, to be used by Travellers, pirates, traders, government forces and corporations. Each vessel has a specific role in the universe, built to accomplish it with the best components available to its builders... or at least to a specific budget.

In Traders and Gunboats you will find ships of the Imperium and independent systems, of the Zhodani Consulate and the Solomani Confederation, as well as those of the Sword Worlds, Aslan, K’kree, Vargr, Hivers and Droyne.

Includes rules on how your Travellers can get their hands on any of these ships after their careers are completed and they are ready to voyage across the stars.

I put this in the Discord, but putting it here, as well. The deckplan for the Tramp Merchant appears to be mislabeled. I'm not sure what (7) should be, but the deckplan shows it as a small closet, with the cargo hold labeled (8), which is the power plant according to the legend - I know the power plant is Increased Size, but, um...... yeah

I still love the ship, though!

I'm betting 7 is the airlock, which should have a hatch leading into the cargo bay.

Very useful collection of ships, but I was sad to not see the Vargr lab ship, which can appear as a mustering out benefit, but (as yet) has no stats (barring assuming it's the same as its imperial counterpart).

Burst lasers are in JTAS #1.
Barbette and bay lasers are in JTAS #7.
You see, you have answered already :)

<Zho precog alert>

More seriously there will come a point where the starship design rule options are spread across so many supplements, adventures and JTAS articles that another edirion of High Giard, a third edition, will become necessary so that authors have the tools they need in one easy to refence place.

If only there was a portentous year coming up where a brand new edition of Mongoose Traveller could be part of the celebratory event...

and it better include a Bu and Embla coffee table art book, a Visual guide to Traveller, the same landscape format as This is Free Trader Beowulf to keep it company on my shelves (may need another set of shelves soon).
