one-page character sheet

Hey, it seems that there are two Combat Manoeuvres missing from these sheets (the last two, including To the Hilt) - here's a mock up suggestion of one way to fix it, by moving the phrase "Combat Manoeuvres" up, which would give space for the other two to be added below - it makes for some truncation in the Proficiencies section, but enables a line for an added (Exotic) proficiency and isn't quite as aesthetic, but a suggestion...

Good idea. I'll see what I can do to add those two and pretty it up. Look for an update on Monday.

Darn it, i've been downgraded to a shrew! Time to start gratuitously posting smileys on topics I'm vaguely interested in as some on this board do to get back to Weasel status.

 BTW, the error of the missing combat maneuvres was due to working off the Mongoose sheet again, when I didn't have my Conan book with me

Ugh! Hey, no need for excuses, get to work on that sheet! :)

I don't have my book with me, what are the missing combat manoeuvres on my one-page sheet? I could make the change now if I had the data....

Elfman,

These sheets are great, and I'll be getting alot of use from them. Just some minor points though:

Bossonian is missing from the languages.

You could remove or rename the size section for initiative, parry, dodge and attack: not needed as there are no halflings or gnomes in the game.

Shields are quite hard to handle. You could add a "shield parry" section in the "Armour" box. You could make space by removing the weight section from the "Armour" box (and also the "Weapons" box), as this probably isn't needed (as long as people put armour and weapons in the "Items and Equipment" box).

Thanks for all you hard work.

D'oh! Yet another problem caused by copying the Mongoose official sheet before I actually had the book. I'll try to squeeze it in.

All good suggestions. I may or may not incorporate them though =)

On the size issue, is it possible for some characters to become large sized, through sorcery or other means? And what if a race is uncovered in later supplements that is small (aka pygmies)? And if I remove the size boxes, admittedly it will get a little less cluttered, but it won't really gain me any useable space. So I'll probably not change this.

I understand that we need one more line in the armour section for shields. I had been using the two lines by putting "& helmet" on one line when needed, and just adding the stats together. I'll look at it, though, and see if an elegant solution pops up.

Wow, that was a quick reply Elfman.

I can't remember anything in the Sorcery section that could change a character's size. Maybe you could replace these boxes with Shield Parry/Dodge boxes which remain separate and don't auto-calculate to the Parry and Dodge totals. That way, your shield bonuses are right next to the appropriate sections, but aren't automatically incorporated into them, allowing for occasions when you've lost/dropped your shield. Just a suggestion, as I really don't think it's all that big a deal.

One more thing, "Two-Weapon Fighting" is effectively a Proficiency rather than a feat, with Soldiers, Barbarians, etc getting it right from level 1. How about a check box for it next to the Simple and Martial Weapon Proficiency boxes? Or, a check-box in the combat maneuvres section?

I'm spending the evening making sample Conan characters, and would just like to say again how much I love the work you've put in on these sheets. Cheers!

It's not in the core rulebook, but I would not be very surprised to see something like this in the Book of Skelos.

After all, Yag-Kosha's spell does shrink Yara down to a little teensy guy...

Yeah, but the limited frequency of a size change probably doesn't merit a box on a character sheet - more of something that would be put in a temporary/misc box (note I'm saying this without the sheet in front of me).

Right now, I'm in quick reply mode. Anything to get my number of posts up without blatantly just posting smilys. :p I wanna get my status as "weasel" back. 8)

Will be looking at it tonight when I get home from work. I'll have to reread the section on Shield Parry first though, so I don't muck it up.

I just added in Bossonian to the languages, and added a checkbox for "TWO-WEAPON" in the weapon proficiencies area.

I'll be looking at the Shield/Parry rules tonight and possibly refining the sheet to that effect. But possibly not; it depends on whether or not I come up with a good layout. In either case, look for a post sometime tomorrow to see what I've done.

I'm posting the above changes, but only for the non-forms version, as a partial update (version 1.3L). Look for a post in the next couple days for more progress.

Elfman:

Thanks again for the great 1 page Conan character sheets; glad to see you're getting them updated. I'm using them a lot for my NPCs. :D

Has anyone created a sheet like this in some other format than PDF, for those of us who want to save our characters but don't have the full version of Acrobat? Perhaps something in Excel or even a Word doc that imports Excel bits?

I've once again posted the latest and "final" version of the one-page Conan sheet.

Version 1.4 of the sheet has been updated from 1.3L to include shield bonuses in the appropriate DVs (ranged dodge and parry values), and has lost a few boxes for space considerations including one of the three move and two of the three lift boxes. DR was moved a little down, and a space for shield bonuses was added to the armour section in place of weight. All in all, a lot of changes but definitely the best version yet.

In the off-chance that someone wants the previous version (1.3L) instead, I'm listing this version as a new filename. Get it here:

I'll post a forms version in a couple days after I get some feedback on this version.

Share and Enjoy!

EDIT: Version 1.4 has been removed from my site. The above link now gives you the latest version. 8)

Elfman,

Perfect!

This sheet is spot on. It now has all I think that I need. I've been making lots of sample characters using your sheets, and this covers everything I think they need.

Cheers.

I've just uploaded the forms version of the most recent revision of the one-page sheet. Version 1.4 has all the changes in version 1.4 of the non-forms version, PLUS the iterative attacks no longer display negative values!

Get it here:

NOTE: I've left version 1.3 available as both a forms and non-forms version at the previously listed links. Please use only this link to get version 1.4. Depending on feedback, I may or may not remove the older version (1.3) from my site.

EDIT: Version 1.4 has been removed from my site. The above link will take you to the latest version. 8)
