Singularity Errata

Tagging @paltrysum as this is going to be an issue for me in relatively short order, though not immediately. Not spelling this out is going to be a pretty severe roadblock and make every game different in unpredictable ways as no one will do this the same way. Can you give us something of a table and modifiers for this task?
It will be up to individual referees to determine how far each passenger goes. Most of the passengers that book a cruise on the Ventura Fortuna are there for the duration of the route, but of course, the flexibility is there for shorter runs. We won't drill down to that level of detail.

Thanks. I’ll make up a table.

I think that leaving that out is a mistake, but you guys are the publishers.

The Velos tis Alitheia is 100 tons, and the core rulebook 24 update changed the standard bridge size to 6 tons with a small bridge being 3 tons. It is listed as having a 6-ton small bridge. If you want to keep the deck plan as is, all you need to do is change the entry for Small Bridge to Standard Bridge. Otherwise you need to make more substantive changes to the plan and the detailed write up.

Thanks for the catch, Terry. We'll enhance it to a standard. Better for the Travellers' skill checks. :)

Don't forget the following ships in the sourcebook that are also impacted.

SOLAR SAILER EXPRESS BOAT
STEALTH EXPRESS BOAT
TYPE S3 ROUTE COURIER

And in Act One:

ORBITAL DEFENCE CORVETTE

I am looking at the player handout in the singularity source book on page 103 and I think it is missing deck 2 or the captains cargo hold as it is described in act I p 15. The deck is present on the deckplans earlier in the book. The text in act I on the captains cargo hold and the ventral turret makes me think that deck is missing from the player handout.

The baron's android (the book still calls it an illegal clone-android hybrid, but it has to be a pure android as the biological body doesn't have enough slots for everything) comes from Tell. That's a peculiar choice as it's a non-industrial planet. It might have TL15, but it maintains that via lots of imports. There might be better choices for where the android came from out there.

Saregon (Core 2936) would be my suggestion. It even has an AI on it (a naughty one!) so there's an in-game connection!

What you say about it: On Saregon, an AI facilitates an anarchist utopia, granting full individual freedom to its 10 billion inhabitants.

Who could ask for better?

You've said you don't intend to have rules on how many passengers are signing up for the whole route, but I'll post my suggestion here anyway. It uses the same modifiers as the passenger recruitment table.

Determining passenger cruise duration. Roll 2D, adding the following modifiers:

The Effect of a Very Difficult (12+) Broker, Carouse, or Diplomat check.

Recruitment attempt made on embarkation world*: DM+4
World Population 1 or less: DM-8
World Population 6–7: DM-2
World Population 8 or more: DM+1
Starport A: DM+2
Starport B: DM+1
Starport C: DM-2
Starport D: DM-4
Starport E: or X**: —
Amber Zone: DM-2
Red Zone: DM-8

*An embarkation world is the starting point of a liner route. See Liner Routes on page 21 of Singularity Act 1: Sylean Dream for more information.

**Luxury passengers are unlikely to be found on worlds with Class E or X starports but may be present under unusual circumstances, as determined by the Referee.

Effect -6 25% (round down) of passengers are in for the entire cruise.
Effect -5 to -1: 50% (round down) of the passengers are in for the entire cruise.
Effect 0: 75% (round down) of the passengers are in for the entire cruise.
Effect 1-5: 100% of the passengers are in for the entire cruise.
Effect 6: 125% (round up) of the passengers are in for the entire cruise.

As one cannot have 125% occupancy, Effect 6 represents a bidding war of potential passengers seeking accommodations. The income for this cruse will bring a 25% premium for all passengers.

Passengers that are not signed on for the full cruise will stay with the ship for D6 jumps (rolled separately) and depart, mandating the location of new passengers.

Yeah, it's missing and that messes up the deck labels and the legend, too. I made these to put up for my players as they are about to get to the ship, so I'll share them here as well as they might help you, too. To keep the players in the dark, I removed the air/raft from where I copied it. This also, coincidentally, fixes where #24 was mislabeled #23.

Also, ships typically start with Deck 1 being the uppermost, not the lowest. Seeing it this way seems weird.

Act One has this regarding the Annililik Route:

Systems in italics are off the standard Annililik Run.

Sadly, this route is the only one that has no system names on the map, italicized or not. If it is meant to be the systems listed as being on the route labled 1-13, none are italicized.

Can you help a guy out, @paltrysum? My players are about to take this route to follow the racers and I kind of need to know which systems on the route and spur are off the run.

To add to the rules, I came up with for generating passenger cruise duration, I give you +1s (or more!).

Determining passenger +1 (or more!). Roll 2D, adding the following modifiers:

Effect -6 20% (round down) of passengers have a +1. 5% (round down) of passengers have a +2.
Effect -5 to -1: 40% (round down) of passengers have a +1. 10% (round down) of passengers have a +2.
Effect 0: 60% (round down) of passengers have a +1. 15% (round down) of passengers have a +2.
Effect 1-5: 80% (round up) of passengers have a +1. 20% (round up) of passengers have a +2. 5% (round up) of passengers have a +3.
Effect 6: All passengers have a +1. 25% (round up) of passengers have a +2. 10% (round up) of passengers have a +3.

This eye from Act One has a discrepancy between the flavor text and the build. It has a 500 km range, but only a 50 km transceiver.
