New worlds, new races?

Have we heard anything yet about the release of new expansions to ACTA: Star Fleet? We love the game, but we are waiting to really get fully into it until we have a few more of the original races (Hydrans and Lyrans).

Hoping we won't have to wait too long past Christmas, but since there has been almost no "chatter" about it, I am concerned. Thanks in advance for any info.

I know the Lyrans were being playtested at some point in the past; I'd seen a playtest report from one of the guys. I don't know what the status of the Lyrans/Hydrans is. The Orions are a priority apparently.

I seem to recall hearing that there was a major release scheduled for the game in 2013, but can't recall what was to be in it.

We did a playtest of the Lyrans, but that was several months ago. We have had playtest rules for Lyrans, Orions and Tholians for the supplement.

There have been digital designs for Lyran minis on ADB's website.

I think they even posted a Paradan cruiser at one point recently. I would expect the Hydrans, Lyrians, Orions, and Tholians to all be fully available by the end of next year. I think we'll get something in the big battleship supplement thing coming out early next year.

The big races yet to be seen are the Hydrans, Lyrans and ISC. Each has a weapon type that is going to require careful thought to transfer over - the Hydrans are fighter users and how you translate that sets the style for fighters across the board, the Lyrans have the ESG which ineracts in all sorts of weird ways and the ISC have the multiimpulse PPD which needs carrying over.

Oh and there's the Andromedans as well....

Minors not yet seen include the Seltorians, LDR and the WYN that I can think of.

Thats without going to other parts of the galaxy or other galaxies.

On top of that there's a battery of vessels for every race that have not been looked at - especially the Orion and Tholian who were only touched upon in the core rulebook.

So there's a vast amount of material and I do not envy anyone the task of prioritising these....no matter what you select next, you are going to make someone unhappy.

As a fan of the Romulans and Gorns, my most pressing needs for dispensing fiery plasma death are already met (or will be when my Gorn Fleet Box arrives!) and I look forward to any new races to deepen and expand the game. 8)
