Minimum range for tanks

I wonder, has any thought been given to a minimum range for tank (and, I guess, other vehicle) weapons? If an infantryman is standing right next to a tank, can weapons be aimed at him? Moving in close like this might actually be a tactic...? Obviously, you might end up being run down! :twisted:

As a quick and simple rule you can say the mininmum range of a vehicles weapon is equal to its size minus the targets size to represent the maximum depression of its main gun. i.e. Size 4 tank fires at size 1 infantry= 3 inch minimum range. If the infantry in inside of 3 inches they can't be targeted. However any weapon used in an antipersonel role (MGs) would have no minimum range.

i think in that situation id run the infantry over turn around and shoot at them or another target so not realy an issue to be honest

Yeah, 4D10 CC is pretty nasty. Is that for every model the tank contacts or every model in the fire zone? Or doe the closest 4 models each take a D10? :?

At the Open day I fired at MEA infantry right next to my Challenger. Just shoved the sshell out the barrel and yelled BANG :lol:

Yeah, I've heard Challenger crews have to do that a lot. :wink:
