Lets build a Vorlon player Character....

Just for the fun of it.

The Core Rules aka Faith Manages does not list Vorlons as Player Characters. SO lets just build one for the fun of it. We should start out on a base premise ithat Vorlons should and ought to by their nature have a teep level much much higher than humans--they are after all non material creatures. So lets go from there.

Feats, skills, raciat traits, mechanics of creation, etc.

Ill start I guess....

Being as the vorlons used other peoples physical bodies to travel from place to place at times--Koche going into and out of Lytas mind--Point one of racial traits: Vorlons have the ability to enter another persons body for travel and observation purposes should they choose to do so and to implant parts of themselves in said body on a more permanent basis--Kocche had piece of him remain in Sheradin.

Who is next to add on the "Vorlon Build Project"?

There is a 1e book about the Vorlons and Shadows, with much information etc, I'm sure it could be converted to 2e standard...

I killed the time while my PCs were making their characters by creating a Vorlon and a Shadow using Darkness and Light, just for kicks. They each have one class available, and massive natural racial bonuses. In addition to that they have a pool of "tech points" that they can purchase various pieces of technology ranging from an encounter suit to a ship.

From what I recall, there is absolutely no reason you couldn't use Darkness and Light with 2e. (however, having stats for a Vorlon or Shadow seems kind of silly to me in the first place, but if you have to have them, Darkness and Light provides all you'd need)

You are 100% correct on this G_L; there is a thread further down that the author of Darkness & Light confirms that you can use the book with 2nd ed as is, even having up to 20th level Vorlons and Shadows, which is pretty scary considering that Kosh is only 15th level!

OK Stats next. I was going to go to species attributes in general but stats it is.

I would say standard methods for all non covered races in the Faith Manages core rule book with the following exception. Vorlons are without body and hence are entirely telepathic in their communications--no vocal cords of any kind. Hence they would start out extraordinarily extremely high say base of P20 and then you roll D hmmm say 12 with no halfing. Remember Mr Mordon ONLY SURVIVED because he had two shadows as body guards at all times to fight for him otherwise he was one dead and cooked goose.

Shadows and other non covered species receiving base minimum automatic with bonus of other dice--shadows especally shice they were extremely telepathic in nature ( or so it appeared).

I can hear the cry BROKEN BROKEN. Remember the purpose of the vorlon build, here, is not, repeat "not', to create equality, level playing field or fairness in any way shape or form. The purpose of the build is to create a vorlon template with the exact same powers and abilities as Vorlons were portreyed on the TV series. Being as I KNOW the game makers will never approve of the "Power is everything and nothing else matters" philosophy its only a WHAT IF WE WERE thing--purely theoretical. So THINK POWER and WHAT IF and do not be scared to create a creature soooo powerful it would take the power of a nuke reactor to burst thru a protective bubble--Refernce the scene where the vorlon was killed in the TV Series.

OK there ya go stats....

Ohh of course the Vorlon given their nature would of course have limited speed due to their encounter suit.

MEMO to would be posters....

Due to a lack of spirit which I intended in the above original post a request has been made to 'Mr' Last Guy to delete this post and all attaced replies to said post.

I, the original poster, request that no further postings be made on this post.

Mr Last guy please check your PM for my official request of the deletion of this post and take this posting as confirmation that it was I who made the request to delete the post.

Please honor my request one and all to not reply to my original post.

It became obvious that the concept that I was shooting for was nt being taken seriously.

I have requested the post be dleleted.

Thanks though for those who did reply even if yall did not grasp where the orioginal post was going/intending to lead you.

LOL even shadow who took a valient stab at the thing was far short of my intent. Nice try anyway shadow.

SQ - there is a fine irony in your stats: the Shadow has a higher Wis than the Vorlon (who gets the bonus for it) :P

R Arceneaux - apologies if my posts and / or levity has caused offence; it was never the intention.

Re T and all who posted....

No apology required because no offense was taken.

I will let Shadow guy think on his post. Perhaps he can find the fatal flaw. It will strike him one day I am sure.

It became apparent that none of the posters who took the time to post was going to get the fundamental /pure/basic fact of what is a vorlon above all other things.

And from that basic/ fundamental/undenyable truth you must begin to build the vorlon.

It simply became obvious that the first step was not going to be achieved.

SO Mr Administration, whomever you may be, when you get around to a few extra min please delete this thread which I started so that you may clear the space for more active and productive threads. You have my permission...

Re shadow...

The term Guy as I use it comes from the old TV Program 'Magnum PI". Ol Thomas Magnum would always initiate conversations with his good friends using the phrase "Hi Guy".

Hence the term of friendship I use "Hi Guy" shortened further to just "Guy".

Do be aware of the old role play saying if you give it stats expect your PC's to try to kill it

Let's see how fast they get the idea and run away from the very pissed off Vorlon or Shadow

Without help of another Vorlon/shadow and/or another first one they don't stand a chance  And if they have seen the show they know it...

Well, Sheridan did manage to kill (I assume) a shadow critter with his PPG.

(How much damage/how many shots did that thing take before he brought it down?)

Shadows are more fragile than the Vorlons, as they appear to have physical bodies. At least, that's my take based on what happened on the show. They can phase, apparently, but most of the time they're more vulnerable. Londo killed one, after all. All it took was a Centauri assault weapon on auto-fire. The trick with killing a Vorlon appears to be raw power, while with a Shadow the trick seems to be surprise.

It's debatable whether Sheridan killed one or not. JMS says no (based on comments I remember from Lurker's Guide), so I assume he knows what he's talking about. What probably happened was that he wounded it and then escaped in the confusion.

But that's just one opinion, the scene could easily be interpreted differently.
