K'kree Miniatures And Air/Raft (Pics)

Classic Traveller is where it is at for me (so please excuse my boldness if this is truly a Mongoose Traveller-only forum,) and 15mm Traveller is where it is at for miniatures and scenery for me. As a bit of background on this project, the K'kree have been my very favorite aliens for about 30 years now, ever since I saw an ad for Alien Module 2 in Dragon #35.

I have been slowly collecting my K'kree miniatures since High School (notice there are only 16 of them, very slowly!) but never really had anything for them to ride in. I had used the vehicle design rules in Megatraveller to build some craft for them in terms of game rules, but I always wanted something for my miniatures.

So here it is. In Traveller terms, this is a 75-ton displacement open-topped anti-gravity vehicle with a capacity to carry 40 K'kree including the crew. The physical build includes such K'kree necessities as artificial turf flooring and pretty holograms of the great outdoors on the interior walls. I also made sure there were 360-degree windows so no one riding inside felt trapped. The K'kree are some kind of crazy claustrophobic, even getting them onboard is a project!

The craft has been built from a variety of WorldWorks Games sets, including Shellendrak Manor, Mayhem Downtown, Platform Command, FirstLight, and ExteriorWorks (that might actually be everything.) In additon to the redesigning of the components, everything had to be rescaled at 60% to be compatible with 15mm miniatures.

And here are some close ups of the minis. Enjoy!

Let me know what you think!

I absolutely love Traveller miniatures, and love seeing this! Great job on the painting of the minis, the vehicle (and the imagination!) and the photos themselves.
