Killing in Glorantha and Pavis

This sort of situation is what IMO makes RPG's so damn good! The angst you guys suffered over the 'murder', how it's resolved in & out of character, you can't get that from any other type of game, it's brilliant.

I'm going to start off another thread on that subject - memorable moments in RPG's!

Hey taxboy, you got nothing to worry about my man. My Elric group were contemplating how they would exact their revenge on one Theleb K'aarna, for laying a trap for them and then mocking them. The only problem is, he is currently in residence with the Queen of Jhakor, Yishana and a detachment of the White Leopards, Jharkors elite military and the Royal family's personal guard.

So the plan they settled on before fate intervened?

Start a war between Dharijor and Jhakor to lure the Queen and the Royal Guard from the castle. As Dharijor is allied with Pan Tang, and K'aarna is a Pan Tangian they assumed, possibly correctly, that he would be put under house arrest as an 'unfriendly alien' with minimal guards.

How did they intend to accomplish this? Raze two entire villages, killing every inhabitant, one on each side of the border and leave behind a corpse or two of the 'invading' army, slaves bought for that specific purpose and dressed in the appropriate uniform.

And you think your players have issues...

Any tactic that involves burning two towns to the ground is a sound tactic.

Your guys have some style! I like it.

The campaign is moving along quite nicely. The guys (and myself) are enjoying playing a system where PC's are freed from the shackles of alignment...

well, I did say I would update what happened next from the post that spawned this thread.

..basically nothing, I led the discussion and we agreed our play (and player) styles differed too much and parted amicably.

Old story, regardless of theory , rules and world background if it was not going to be fun, just stop...

The concept of alignments blow even more than increasing hit points and levels!

Aren't you studying to be a doctor or something? Wouldn't that kind of violate your hypocritical oath or something?

I was afraid this might be the case. I'm sorry your group didn't work out. I know how hard it can be to find one. Yet I think you are right. Trying to play with a group that has too different of a set of expectations and desires out of the game is bound to just bring about conflict amongst yourselves... which is hardly desirable.

We basically ejected the two new players and back to the comfortable 4...

Obviously change IS bad...

Indeed, that would be the one! But only female nurses (at least that's my preference) and only those that are 70 (kg's and or years,) or under and have a heart beat!

Nevermind the heartbeat, we have Heart Defibrillators. That'll get that heartbeat started in a second.

Never heard of the Do No Harm part of it, is that a new thing? :P
