ERRATA - It Begins!

OK, someone had to start the thread!

I noticed that the Computer Programs table has a column for TL, but no entries.

What are the TL minimums for the various computer programs? I see this as being the way the Jump number is controlled.

Obviously J1 is TL9, J2 is TL11, etc up to J6 being TL15, but I'm not sure what the other programs would have to TLs.

How about a little clarificartion of the Hyperdrive? Does it use any fuel or not since it is 2x the size of the Jump Drive? I says that it does not use any extra fuel. Could we please have a little clarification?

I read that to mean it uses the fuel of a Jump 1. Although, you COULD decide that the amount of jump fuel is inversely proportional to the TL of the builder. For example, use J6 fuel at TL9 and J1 fuel at TL15... That makes the lower TL ships BIG if you want to have a hyperdrive, which conveniently matches the B5 universe it is based on...

All it is doing is opening a hole to Hyperspace. The distance travelled is independent of that hole. The SIZE of the hole is what matters.

Also, this is an optional drive, so you can decide how you want it to work.

Apparent dropped text between the bottom of the left column and top of right column on page 44 (Hivers)

Bottom of column reads:

The other five limbs are identical (except for slight

And top of right column has:

and legs indiscriminately.

[I know, that since it is referring to hivers, this may may perfect sense to Gruffty, but I R ConFuzed! :D ]

This should help to clarify the missing text at the top right column:
CT AM7 Hivers said:
The Limbs: Although the prime limb and the tail are specialized, all six limbs are more alike than different. Hivers are multidexterous, and use all limbs interchangeably as arms or legs.
Dunno about the other bit though; I can't find a similiar sentence in my CT Hiver book.

Dang.

I should write a book about these guys...

I doubt anything we write would clarify or make them make any sense. Now if we could get the Hivers to write about themselves, it might make sense, but then again, being the Hivers, it probably would not.

It probably is:
If you want to immobilize a Hiver, you should therefore cut off all arms
and legs indiscriminately
.

Now that was funny.

Actually, on a more serious note, most of the text about Hivers in the book is verbatim from CT AM7 Hivers, with a few minor tweaks here and there.

Not sure about that picture of me, though....... ;)

Moving along: I'm not sure that this is errata, but I'll post anyway:

Hivers have Notable Intelligence (+2) and Weak Dexterity (-2). Hivers can also see into the infra-red spectrum.
..."Weak Dexterity"?? Uhm, *NO*. Hivers evolved on a low-G world, thus should have something like -2 to Str and/or End; Hivers are also extremely good with their tentacles/fingers and thus should have at least the standard 2d6 Dex (if not a +2 for Dex). There's also no mention of Curiosity characteristic, which, in CT, replaced Soc.

The bit about seeing into the IR spectrum is right though... ;)

In an Errata thread, no news are the best possible news ... :D
yes, indeed. But I can't believe we've identified all the errata yet (no disrespect to MP, btw).
It could be also that some folks are still reading their copy for the first time or in a few cases still have not gotten their copy.

Just a thought.

True indeed, true indeed :)

For the Ship Travel Times table, shouldn't the entry for 30,000,000 km read 100 light-seconds, instead of 1 light-second?

It should, unless c is different in the Traveller universe.

Page 4 "Technology levels" section, TL10

Copy states "economic boon". The normal terminology is 'economic boom' as in "boom and bust".

Page 48 initial section.

The first bulletpoints all start with lowercase first letters. In all other bulletpointed lists, they start with capital first letters.

Page 99 "Slug throwers" table

The column heading for "Damage" is missing.

As a heads-up, I'm away in Japan for a few weeks, so I won't be making a serious attempt to collate errata until I'm back home (and until I get my own copy of the game - I still haven't seen the printed book!)
