ERRATA - It Begins!

As a heads-up, I'm away in Japan for a few weeks, so I won't be making a serious attempt to collate errata until I'm back home (and until I get my own copy of the game - I still haven't seen the printed book!)
Have a safe trip.

Not sure if this is Errata or just a printing issue, but when I tried to copy the blank Subsector page at the back, none of the hex numbers showed up in the copy. The grey text is so light, it doesn't copy at all.

Ditto. I agree, it's the grey text used for the hex numbers that is the problem.

A temporary fix for this is would be a clear, yellow, transparent sheet (one used for the old over head projectors) and place it between the book and the machine. This will help bring out the lighter text.

I think it would be nice to see this character sheet, subsector map, world builder sheet, and ship builder sheet in a PDF for easy printing; seperate from the manual PDF scheduled for release.

Ermmmm, chaps, Mongoose have had a blank subsector map to download from the Traveller page for some time now (see bottom of page);

Hmm...I forgot about that. :)
Looking at the printout of it though the numbers are still faded, and their map has smaller hexes too. :D

Yes, but when I tried to use it, I could not get the PDF to open. :(

But to your point there are lots of versions out there on the net, but it was still nice to have the blank version.

That's odd. Do you have the latest Acrobat Reader (version 8)? It opens fine for me.

Mine says it is 8.1.1

I will go try it again, maybe I just had some od glitch because I never went back and tried it after the first time it did not open.

p. 61, first column under Miscellaneous:

• Calling in an ortillery strike.

I don't know whether it's an error but every career's Survival t# plus Advancement t# is 12 except for Drifters for whom it's 14 (presumably because it's meant to be an unattractive career), Nobles for whom it's 10, 11 or 12 (presumably because it's so hard to enter) and for Scouts for whom it's 14 just like for Drifters. Why do Scouts need to be worse off than everyone else?

Ortillery is correct - somewhere in there it's explained as ORbital arTILLERY.

And Scouts get screwed because, well, it's traditional.

Did we see an answer on the value of the Ship's Shares? 10% or 1%?

I assume it is the 1% and the chart is wrong, but I would like to know for sure.

Haven't had a chance to read more than the first 15 pages or so, but two things I have picked up, which may or may not have been indicated already ...

1) Page #4, Column #1, Line #13 ... "illuminating droplets of blood ..."

In a vacuum? Where the stated evidence is that the hull has been breached for several hours?

"... illuminating floating icy blood crystals ..." more likely ... and, if the blood was spilled after the hull was breached, most likely "... illuminating spiky blood icicles ..."

2) Page #8 (Skills & Training) ... refers to ... "the fourth table" as being Advanced Skills. It's the third. Ditto, Military Officer skills is the fourth skill table, not the fifth.

Pretty minor stuff, so far.

...uhm, not really a problem there - that's just an example of play...

Page 160, second column, example under the "Steward requirements" box.

The example gives the DM for a rich world destination as +1, but the "Passenger Traffic" table on the next page gives the DM as +2.

Either the example or the table are incorrect, I suspect it is the example.

Page 8, fifth paragraph ("Skill training" section), seventh line. There is an extra full stop.

"...certain Rank.)."

Customarily a full-stop goes after the bracket.
