BF Evo, future weapons

Is it just me or is this git going to be sucking wind and suffering from serious fatigue by day 3 of the first campaign he's involved in? That's A LOT of gear to be packing around as standard issue. They're going to have to up the PT requirements to get some folks in better shape if they expect to be packing that mule load around for very long.

Never fear Paladin! BLEEX is here to save you!

And: Alas, poor Walrus.... It had such potential

Maybe they'll just get a few of these instead. If the company comes out of administration.....

Nope..they're on the 2007 program with a speaker, and concidering that this is at a UK Based NATO confrence, I don't think you would see FIST up there.

Ahh, I just didn't see their flag and that upper left corner of Australia's flag didn't count, heh.

The Quad tilt-rotor (or 6x) is quite an idea for the replacement of both C-130's and military transport helicopters. If I was anywhere even close to a gunship variant I would certainly want to be inside of it.

The quad roter was cooked up after the Marines realized they couldn't haul their heavy equipment (or barely any equipment at all) with the V-22. Also, they came up with an idea to mount a chin gun similar to the Apache on the V-22 after someone realized it couldn't defend itself when coming into a hot LZ.

Ok, so which of the countries are just sitting back, saying;"forget about pouring millions into developing a future soldier system, lets wait until someone else develops it and either buy it or nick it!!"

Possibly the Chinese, since they do alot of copying and reverse engineering. Other counties are probably those that don't have their own weapons programs, like Luxembourg

I still think that out of all of those countries developing future soldier programmes, it's going to come down to the first 5 or 6 countries to get it to production, then a lot of other countries will adopt an "export variant" of one of those systems. :?

I would be very surprised if all of those countries researched, developed and produced their own system. I'm still more surprised that there hasn't been a jointly developed system by some NATO countries, but perhaps they learned from the Eurocopter and Eurofighter projects.
