After advice on MI Light vehicle/tank design

Doghouse

Mongoose
I know this is a bit of a touchy subject but I'd really like to have a bash at a light vehicle of some description for my MI.
I'm currently thinking of a light wheeled tank that can be delivered by a Viking or such. Maybe something like a heavier version of the Halo Warthog with a six man transport capacity.
In the CGI series I know that they used drop pods to deploy the hovercraft so something like that might work as well.
I've tryed hunting around for pictures of the Gecko but have so far found nothing.
So regardless of the "Tanks/no Tanks" debate, theoretically what would be the best direction to take for something like this?

Merry Christmas, Doghouse! I'd suggest you first take a look at the M1126 and M1128 Strykers for some inspiration. A down-sized, similar -type vehicle sounds like what you are talking about.

Regards.

My unofficial LAMI gound transport will consist of these:

I only ordered them last night, so this is a developing idea.

My current plan is to repaint them and dress them up with stowage. I may also be adding Reliant Platform Scythe Lasers to the tops of the APCs. If I change my mind about using them with LAMI, I can still use them as generic Sci-fi APCs.

Goldwyrm, those look pretty good. Are they die-cast? They look like they are. My mini-Gecko kitbash would be too big for a Viking but the Old Crow stuff I've bought should work fine carried on a "shed on jets".

Doghouse, try this link for more ideas such as from Goldwyrm and Scipio.

Yes they are. The first is listed as Solido, the second with the 90mm turret as Verem on the OnsiteDiecast website. They're still showing their 50% off banner, although I believe it was just for the Christmas holiday.

For a small wheeled vehicle, there's Alpha Forge's Salvage Dog transport:

Buships beat me to the Old Crow link.

Also try Pig Iron.

It's not wheeled, but their Tank/APC/AFV is a good size:

Very nice.

And I would think that geting out would be pretty easy as well.

How many LAMI fit?

If you're talking about the Alpha Forge model, not many LAMI at all. It is still a very nice looking model. Here is someone's gallery:

Scroll down to the bottom for the salvage truck. The two figures placed inside have shorter bases than our typical plastic 25mm round. If I ever get one, it will serve as an offworld farm colony light transport or rebel technical.

And I noted your earlier comment on the VAB variant. Thanks. I have to get these in my hands and play around with the options.
