ACTA Tournament 2011 - Saturday April 9th

May be I will return to the Boughton Tourney in spring.

When ?
Have to plan the trip (free at work and checkout a flight)

The Main rules and P&P are rules and ships enough

Cool - that would be great :)

I'll try and sort out a date next week.

Anyone any periods to avoid in the Spring (I know Easter is very late)

Please, avoid Eastern, this is a traditional family time for me.

Other than that - I am fine with any dates.

just avoid march 6th, and nearest weekend, Ellas 2nd Birthday :-)

Not bothered Re Easter, no need for religious festivals here

Most weekends in April already have things happening to me. Also, like hiffano, I probably can't make the weekend of 5th-6th March.

Otherwise it's probably down to the date being announced so I can commit to that before anything else finds its way into my calendar. If it's B5:ACTA and the date is good, I want to be there again. :)

hey Charles, any update on this for us?
I am desperate to give Kickaha a lesson in space warfare...

Ok guys. I am looking at the work diary and best days for me are:

Saturday 26th or Sunday 27th March
Saturday 9th or Sunday 10th April - the latter is useful as I have an Archery event in the park going on as well.

Soo................

any preferences for Saturday or Sunday.

I need then to look at the food situtation and tournament format

Probably looking at 4 games as before - rising is size from Skirmish to Battle. I may again look at period theming each game unless people concerned they won't be able to play their fav fleets?

so for example

Game One - Dilgar War and before - ISD ships of 2232 or before
Game Two - Rise of Earth and the Earth-Minbari War - ISD 2248 or before
Game Three - The Time of War - ISD 2261 or before
Game Four
- A New Age - ISD 2261+ (ie no Vorlons / Shadows)

thoughts, comments, suggestions................

The format sounds good to me.

Get to use a variety of fleets. I do not think people would mind if you proxied ships if you would like to try a fleet you do not own mini's for :D.

I would be up for any of the dates Charles has suggested.

mm, Sunday best for me, but i'll have to go with the flow, i like the period idea, (though the doubles was my favourite idea). but at least using periods, makes people have a few different fleets etc. for dilgar war, should omit ancients, as they were not involved in affairs at that time.

Agreed - I'll include that .

Like the new Forum name by the way :)

soo Saturday is the fav at present - thanks for responses so far 8)

I can probably do either Saturday or Sunday, but the March dates are preferable for me.

Game 4 was 3 War last time - is it being scaled back this time or are you going to make it more Battle points than game 3?

Dilgar War will be tricky for me. I have an idea for a fleet which could be amusing even if it's just target practice for someone... It's a little annoying that I can't use Shadows in the final game, but I could probably put them into one of the middle games and then use either Army of Light or ISA for the finale.

And I'd like to see Hiff's doubles idea, even if only in one of the four games.

I think changing the format is a good reason for people NOT to use Shadows in the final game lol.

early fleets, mmm, I have minbari, centauri, Narn and EA if you need any ships. All fleet action but meh.. Also can get hold of Abbai if you fancy a laugh!

Just for that, it will be Army of Light, and if you think Shadows are cheesy you ain't seen nothing yet.

For Dilgar War, you've reminded me that I could actually just about do Centauri, although it would probably be just as much target practice as what I had in mind and not quite as amusing. On the other hand, if the Dilgar war uses your doubles format and I go Centauri, whoever is my ally could find themselves with a pleasant surprise...
