They'd be more likely to retire to hill country I reckon. Based on Vincent's map, the hills to the south of Ayodhya (the Hyborian Age equivalent of the Vindhya Range I presume) would be a good place to put a summer retreat.
I agree, and not because of the price either. I much prefer flipping through a softcover, so I prefer softcover for the main rules as well. My pocket edition gets much more use than the full hardcover at our table.
When I see a hardcover on a slim book I get suspicious that the content alone is...
I like the idea of sorcerers having some sort of meta-magical abilities, such as wars of souls or the ability to take over other sorcerer's spells. The Counterspells spells Warding and Greater Warding could fit into that category, so I can see how it might be appropriate for all sorcerers to get...
Interesting that you have made counterspells and summoning part of the character class as a whole rather than options. Why those schools in particular?
I do rather like the idea of thaumaturgy, but couldn't this be handled by a feat? I've always felt that scholars could do with a few more...
It is a mystery as to why it was pulled from the generally accessible webpage, especially since it is referred to in The Free Companies. However, you can still find it at this page.
As GM it is entirely up to you how much of a problem it would be being a woman in a mercenary group. My feeling is that a day and age that includes Valeria and Bêlit has pretty low barriers for women.
You should have little trouble running a mercenary campaign; adventures should just write...
I'd say there is little to choose between Hyrkanian and Shemitish bows. I would rate them both higher than Bossonian longbows. While longbows do need to be well crafted, they are not nearly as sophisticated as composite recurved bows.
In terms of game stats, I would take the extra 20' range...
NPCs are a headache aren't they. It would be great if there was a resource listing NPC stats.
Would anyone be interested to contributing NPCs to a wiki?
It is still possible for the finesse attack to do no damage if the hit roll does not exceed the DV by an amount equal to the DR (and then the damage rolled does not beat the DR). Have I got that right?
Wow. I wasn't aware of that. (Where can I find that rule?) But if any finesse attack can be a sneak attack, then this new rule still applies a more stringent restriction, i.e., the finesse attack has to do damage before the sneak attack damage can be added. If you aren't doing a finesse attack...
