And just to be correct, if the neutron laser is a particle weapon then its not a laser.

according to "Legacies" the Minbari weapons are Neutron cannon and Fusion laser. Agents of gaming somehow mixed the two up

he Drakh Neutron cannon having a lesser range on most similar PL ships. But otherwise pretty much the same weapon

Narn Mag gun (what is this?) - A nuclear weapon. The description of this basically called it a bullet with a nuclear tip that when it hit, allowed the nuke's power to wash over the ship, destroying most of it's surface armor and weapons.

Apparently it's become a beam weapon of some sort as of ACTA. Maybe in 2nd Edition it should lose the beam trait while keeping SAP and Triple Damage and just up the number of attack dice instead?
I always wondered how it got the beam trait, to me a Mag gun is basically a Railgun, maybe a overpowered railgun as Narn like to add more power than is safe.

Personally I don't think interceptors should be able to block mass driver technology and the Mag Gun is a modified mass driver, for ship to ship combat. I also don't think interceptors should be able to stop a bolt that is WAY bigger then the interceptor bolt. :)

Well, the interceptor's plasma bolt would vaporise a small railgun slug or similar projectile, and when it hits an incoming energy weapon shot it disrupts the magnetic fields that hold it together. So it fizzles out in space.

At least, that's my understanding.

You think interceptors shouldn't be able to stop big bolts but they should stop lumps of rock tens of metres in diameter?

Basically it uses a nuclear blast to generate X-Rays which are focused into a beam (or multiple beams). Also used in Larry Niven's FOOTFALL (Invasion of the baby elephants from outer space :) ) and one of the USA's Star Wars SDI concept weapons.

My thinking was if it was significantly bigger the interceptor bolt would go right threw it, because the enemy bolt would envelop it, but if it disrupts what keeps the bolt together then it should work, still, the thought of it disrupting a tried and true mass driver (not the mag gun) seems a bit absurd. :)
