Viable New Factions for future boxsets...

Mongoose
Okay, so we can all produce long lists of the characters we'd most like to see made as new miniatures (Maria, Dirty Frank, Aimee Nixon, Judge Beeny, Call-Me-Kenneth, Nimrod... need I go on?), and the Kickstarter has made huge inroads into fulfilling many long-held dreams of minis collectors.

However, wonderful as they are, individual pre-existing 'hero' minis aren't really the focus of this game, are they? At its heart it's all about the gangs/factions, and their anonymous cohorts. A bonus would be for these to also serve multiple roles as minis that could be used for the RPG or incorporated into other groups.

So what would make for some new, viable gangs or factions for future boxsets? Here's my initial suggestions, please to be joining in!

1. Terror Cell. In Dredd's world, democracy tends to be synonymous with one thing: terrorism. A mix of idealists, the disaffected and the just plain psychotic, MC-1 is infested with factions dedicated to overthrowing Justice Department and putting power back in the hands of the people, even if most of them never bothered to vote when they had the chance, and those that did voted for the Judges. You could have a mix of the hardened thugs of Rage Against the Megs, the secretive bomb-planters of Total War, malicious genetically engineered agents of the Sovs and other hostile powers, and well-meaning innocents caught up in terror's sticky web. Mercenary lists could include unproduced singles like Orlok and America Jara, and existing figures like the Agent, Bltzers and Mobsters.

2. Wally Squad. Justice Dept's Undercover Division is staffed by the weirdest of the weird, so freakishly strange as to be indistinguishable from the normal citizenry. This is a great opportunity to produce more Mega-City crazies, with Uglies, Slabwalkers, Simps, cyborgs, Blobs, muttering weirdoes and even ninja toddlers. Almost any model could work as a Mercenary, but some hero models in the shape of Aimee Nixon, Dirty Frank, Judge Mortal (a judge in the body of a baby) and Jack Point would be very welcome.

3. Undercity Denizens. A range of terrifying entities inhabit the dark concreted-over ruins of Old New York and other US metropoli. From cannibalistic Troggies to werewolves, vampires, giant albino gators, rogue droids and crazed Long Walk Judges. All sub-human life is here, just waiting to pop open a manhole cover and terrorise the world above. Mercenary lists could include Fergee, droids, Werewolves, psykers etc.

4. Wreckers. Preying on the endless pulsing flow of traffic through the great city, these masked pirates of the future smash and grab their way through the mo-pads and hovcars of the Megways, clashing with rival biker gangs and Judges as they go. An essential addition to any conflict on the ever-moving arteries of the Big Meg.

5. Ma-Ma Clan. Pleasepleasepleasepleaseplease.

+1 for this.

Was a basic full compliment of Brit-Cit Judges promised already? If not, I'd prefer Mongoose start with completing the set of the 3 "uniform plods" and the Detective Judge with some other specialists: roughly the same spread as in the MC-1 Justice Department, with the Riot guys maybe replaced by Endangered Species Squad troopers for variety (the Detecitive could replace the Psyk or not). An obvious later option would be to branch into Shok-TAC, TacArms and the Special Judicial Service sets.

Could easily have some Paranoia Trobleshooters using R+D tech to wonder into Mega City - (I recall the old White Dwarf where you had Orks versus Trouble Shooters :)

bit of cross marketing ;)

Could then have a fun R+D tech table, some vulture squadron havies and maybe a lost little warbot - latter would make good merc for renegade Robots.

Alien Mercenaries pack would be a good one - plus can use as mercs for various factions.

TOTALLY NEED some rules for Dinosaurs ;)

Been thinking about this and I know it's not a new force but I'd really like to see a mobsters box set. With different gangster models (different weapons) and probably another blitzer model as well. Right now, the only options if you want to field mobsters are to either field a gang of clones or to use miniatures from another company.

I'd like to second the mobsters thing, especially as they're a pretty common enemy for Judges in the roleplaying game.

A couple of Mega City Black Ops squad ? Might include opposition of armed Simps ? Unlikely Judge Bachmann would get involved in a fight..but My Grud ! Shes deadly in a fight.

My rough list of possible future gangs I was banging around: Uglies, Normals, Pri-Sec (lucky dips, securisquad), Crocs, Cursed Earth (nature cult, Trash cult, burger wars cult, mutancheroes, leftover robot wars), wreckers, EXO-Men, Hunter Club, Neon Knights, Daughters of the Apocalypse, Verminators, Gaxers, Simps,

I believe that Gaxers were purely a Gamesworkshop invention.

Mixed Alien set might be nice, Graal hitman with Feargun, Mophioso, Nosferatu etc
