This whole thing is getting tedious now about jump points, jump point bombs, selective cannon etc. lets give it a break and discuss the cool positive things eh? Like the G'Quan is a fine looking ship!

The G'Quan is a fine looking ship indeed. I also notice that in several episodes, it is clearly shown firing its lasers in the forward arc, not boresight! Has anyone else noticed this flaw?

i don't think they heard you, as it seems most of 'em are still arguing about jump points

Yeah i know, can't say I realy expected otherwise, but they could have surprised me.

I also noticed it never JP bombed anyone....just kidding :P

It is sometimes hard to call a truce when you are the rebel, as the truce only helps the status quo.

That aside I do indeed love the G'Quan. It is one of my favorite ships and I have high hopes that the second edition one will be worth taking over a pair of its lower level counterparts. I want the iconic ships to be the ones I field most often with the ones made up for the game being the flavor additions.

I did llike the Nova but really liked the Omega better. That big spinning section really screamed Earth to me, and seeing it go by the wayside so quickly (warlock doesn't need it apparently) was a bit of a let down. That and the big hammer head the Nova and Omega shared was cool.

I always thought the Omega was cool too, but I always had a soft spot for the Hyperion. Was never a big fan of the Centauri ships, although modelwise, the Octurion is a very nice ship.

Omega-class command destroyer FTW! Because it just looks like it's going to take a beating and keep shooting. Whilst the Warlock - well, the warlock looks like the Dougles Adams 'Kill-o-zap' pistol; "There is a right end and a wrong end...and if staring at the wrong end things are going very badly for you."

Actually, I like the way that the Earth ships do evolve in appearance; there is a distinct 'form' assosiated with hyperion/orestes/avenger hulls, a nova/omega/poseidon style, and a warlock/chronos/delhpi style.

And then the myrmidon. Whatever that's supposed to look like.

That said, lots of races have very impressive looking ships; although I agree with the comment that I'd very much like the 'backbone' ships of fleets to be the ones seen in the show; g'quan/omega/avioki/primus/sharlin...definitely true for some of those, but not universally so.

'Everything will be better in 2e' is kind of a redundant chant; it may be, it may not be. But if they're able to read the 2e playtest team are already aware of the jump point bomb issue (in fact for 'aware' I suspect read 'fed up to the back teeth'), so let it go and see what they produce. If you have a genuinely new complaint or issue then it's worth trying to tackle them.

With the Bluestar being able to skin dance or ram, 50/50,will this be modified for 2E?
Lots of Bluestars on the table would make this skindance or ram tactic advantagous under the current rules.

Edit: well since i was being distracted by my niece and nephew i ended up posting this here instead of making a new topic   :)

How the heck does it do that without cutting the pointy end off it's hull?

See the last 5 minutes of "And Now For A Word".

I know. It still looks to me as though it should cut its own front end off.

maybe the pointy bits on the prow are holographic to make it look cool, whilst not getting in the way ;-)

Either way, it's a forward arc! on the coolest damn looking ship in the galaxy! God I hope it's worth taking in second ed!
