The Vehicle Handbook is Here!

Mongoose Traveller is notorious for spacecraft typos, presumably.

Rule of thumb is that if you're interested in a specific vehicle, just recalculate the design sequence.

In terms of technological level incongruity, if you have a real world example, find out if it's a prototype or a production model, and you can house rule it to whatever level you feel is appropriate.

The mechanics doesn't have a 'prototype' trait but flavor can say a vehicle fitted with a system that is new and not standard for that TL for the culture has received a prototype. We assume that means the next TL. Up to the referee to say how available (if available) it is and how many are in use.

I like the rules from HG regarding this so I will use this for my universe. So the Vanguard fighter will have a prototype autocannon and i will stick with a -1 accuracy as its disadvantage. The reason for the inaccuracy is poorer gunsights. So this keeps mass etc the same. The logic I used was that this would have a minimum impact on the vehicle stats while still effecting a disadvantage. The only other change would be to price.
