The Gray Council Sharlin

reaching a little there - they were certainly in range to be attacked and / rammed - I don't think the tractor beam thing was especailly long range?

My point is we don't know that he was tractored by the Grey Council ship, it could have been any ship in the fleet responding to Delenn's order.

you see no shuttles or other transports moving between the ships

Doesn't mean they didn't though.

I'm not saying it definitelywasn't the Grey Council; ship he was ramming I'm just pointing out there's nothing to say it definitely was either.

We don't see every single second of everybody in the serie either. Single shuttle moving between ships isn't exactly most interesting or needed shots ;-) One way or another doesn't really make difference in the end so why waste screen time to that when you could show more interesting scenes instead?

Personally I think that the Grey Sharlin should be a light touch. I would say remove some of the fighters and give it Command +1. Simple, effective and not too overpowering.

Agreed. Simple, realistic but sadly too "plain" and "not sexy enough" to make players have that "I WANT I WANT" feeling. How to bolster sales with such a simple tweak...

On the way to Z'ha'dum, when they run into the humans it shows the Full Minbari expedition forces.

Then Ducat goes Nuuuuu close the gun ports! Too late.....

There would be no "bolstered sales". The Grey Sharlin would be a variant. It's a Sharlin with a smexy green glow in front of it, so you'd just buy a Sharlin and paint some flourescent green on the front.

Adaptive armour maybe but I would say no to the lightning cannon and then the ships really screaming LOOK WHERE THE ONES IN CHARGE PLEASE KILL US! as it would surly look differently to your general Minbari ship.

Why would it have a lightning cannon if it "wasn't meant for the front lines", as everyone seemed to be arguing at the beginning of this topic? Again, it would seem you'd want defense only, because "the best defense isn't a good offense". The cannon would only be there if it were meant for the front lines.

The only time a Council Sharlin was documented in a serious battle was in the Battle of the Line. They weren't even in the final battle of the Shadow/Vorlon War.

Grar.

The Grey Council was broken by the time of the final Shadow/Vorlon War. Only the Religious and Worker caste was involved in it.

I think it was the Warrior caste that kept control of the Valen'tha after the events in "Severed Dreams". Since the others walked out of the chamber.

From the way things looked, the Sharlin had nothing particularly special about it, except perhaps that its crew was likely the best in the entire Minbari Federation...

Why would you make it different in the first place? That just draws attention. The best defense is to make your ship carrying the entire leader caste look exactly like the other 200 Sharlins right next to it. How could you tell the difference? If anything, at most, the Grey Council's Sharlin would feature increased C3 (Command, Control, Communication) equipment, and better stealth generation... at most. And likely, that would be a feature of "Command" variants of the Sharlin in the first place (Like the Black Star). However, it seems all Sharlins have increased C3 capabilities, likely so they can serve as flagships in task forces made up of larger ships (You see evidence of it in one episode where Sheridan leads a battle from the Sharlin's command section) so... conclusively, the Grey Council's Sharlin, beyond crew, is no different from any other Sharlin.

Ie sharlin model sales would go up ;-)

I don't think many people who already have a Minbari fleet, would buy a new Sharlin model just to use as the GC variant. And I don't think the existance of GC stats would convince many people to buy a Minbari fleet, who otherwise wouldn't buy. So it really wouldn't raise Sharlin sales much, if at all.

Well its all moot now since nobody can buy Sharlins at all, GC or otherwise!

About anything in life...............

which do you think it was (having no doubt watched it once a twice)

Not sure, I'd need to rewatch it again with the question in mind, or I cuould look through the script and see if there's any indication there.
