Do starbases take up Fleet points in a scenario. For example if you have a 5 point battle and you must use the battle level starbase you have do you only get 4 battle points to fill out your fleet or do you still get 5 battle points?

If it's a published scenario that lists the base separately from the number of fleet points, then I'd say it's separate. In a campaign or pickup game, I think it'd be taken from the total points.

I dont think you can mate, and seriously why would you bother having a station. A lot of them have 24" range weapons, the opponent would sit outside that and wipe it out. IMHO, its a waste of point. Also, you are only allowed 1 station per table, so what happens if your opponent appears with one too. Finally, some scenarios in the tourney, I dont think you can use it can you?

Hey, there is nothing wrong bringing it along. I for one, would love to see it

There's nothing that stops you taking it to a tourney unless specifically stated otherwise. Of course, tactical considerations are there but otherwise I'd say go for it (and ask permission from the tourney organiser if in doubt/to give a heads up).
