Something about pre-painted minis and models seems a little juvenile to me. I see 12 year old kids playing games like Mechwarrior and Star Wars at my local game store and I look at those games as introduction games to the world of miniature gaming. Then you graduate and pick your brushes and paints and dive head first into a game like SST with all its complexities. To me, pre-painted miniature games are one step above board games. Anyone can go buy an army and rule set off the shelf but it takes a dedicated gamer to buy, assemble, and paint an army. Plus, its that much more rewarding when you see your custom painted force of MI slaughter there first Arachnids or vice versa. Thats my opinion, feel free to disagree.
