Question : how would you roleplay Grey Star and Lone Wolf

Hello all,

I have a question.

In your games, when you present to your players Grey Star or Lone Wolf, how would you do that ?

what would be Grey Star's behaviour, his concerns ? How would you portray him ?

what would be the differences between Grey Star and Lone Wolf ?

And what is Grey Star's ultimate fate ? When do he disappear (which paragraph this ultimate fate is reported in book 21 or 22) ?

Thanks in advance,

Eric

Oh well, I was about to reply to your email, but then I saw this thread, so instead of repeating what other people might say, I'll write it down here.

As I already told you, we know that GS became the ruler of the Shadaki at the end of book 4 of his series. He is married to Tanith and he will reappear in one of the last 4 books of the LW series.

His name and fate are mentionned in book 22 as the NO GM arrives in the city of Shadaki. I don't know the section by heart, so perhaps someone could fill the gap here, but we learn that there're rumours about him being kidnapped by Shadakine Pirates in the Sadi Desert.

As for the element coming from the GS series, I'll let other people answering since I don't know very well these gamebooks.

... should I actually have him in any of my campaigns, it would depend on the date of course. Assuming you're asking about "after the books" period, then in D20 terms I believe Lone Wolf has advanced to somewhere around Level 30 or so.

So we're talking about the highest-level epic character ever seen on Magnamund ;)

Given his
a) Devotion to Kai
b) Huge sacrifices and personal experiences
c) upbringing as a Kai monk
d) mastery of powers and abilities far beyond normal

I would play him in a similar fashion to an encouraging, enlightened monk - someone who's major battles are now past and whose task it is to teach and guide those who wish to follow in similar footsteps.
