points cost...Cromwell VS. Sherman

Myself and RC were discussing the points difference between the Cromwell and the Sherman III...the Cromwell has better target numbers, yet is 40 points less than the Sherman. is this a typo? or am I missing something?

Yes you are: 3 MGs (1 Pintle!) vs 1 MG.... :wink:

In that case, isn't the Cromwell missing a machine gun? It should have co-axial and hull mounted BESA MGs.

(and possibly an option for a pintle mounted AA Bren )

It is worth pointing out here that Agis constructed army lists to provide the most common units, not every little option possible.

We _are_ looking at 'every little option possible' for both Modern Combat and the WWII Air Power supplement - it will be interesting to see people's reactions.

However I think the comment re two MGs rather than 1 for the Cromwell stands

As an aside, a list of standard variant bits and pieces together witha points cost migth not be amiss. After all, fitting (or deleting) pintle mounted guns was a fairly common local mod, as was applique armour and other stuff. A table of mods, effects and costs might be quite useful.
