No Laser Bays?

Two sets of questions regarding the Murian Pulse Laser Bay:

1. Are these weapon systems only produced by the Murians in 1105? This would cap these TL12 systems at 1 advantage on the TL13 Murian worlds. Alternatively, are they now built in other polities enabling TL 15 (3 advantage) versions in the Imperium?

2. How does the the Auto 2 feature work with starship weapons? The Auto X trait for ground scale weapons offers three fire modes, but the duration of combat rounds are different at starship scale. Are starship weapons only able to fire in the Burst mode for Auto weapons or can they attack multiple times per round in Full Auto mode?

The reduction of damage to 4D with the addition of the 10x muliple for small bay weapons seems like a good balance change.

Thank you
1. I see no reason why somebody else wouldn't have adopted or adapted these versions, but I owuld think they'd be capped at what the Murians could produce, would be TL13. But most of the two sectors in the book are pretty much caped at TL13 anyway. so it depends how far the design has 'spread'. Independent development should be an issue if you don't want it to be, though. It just wouldn't be something that has crept into 'standard' 3I and Zhodani designs.

2. Nothing in High Guard contradicts (or even mentions) the Core book Auto rule (to be fair it only shows up on 'exotic technology' weapons) so I would say it would apply as normal, with three modes available.

3. Okay, there is #3, but your suggestion that the damage should drop to 4D to comport with the updated High Guard makes sense (but if it tracks with the railgun, it would be 3D, so I could argue either way - but since its goal is to cause damage without radiation, I would think focus and intensity would be a design goal, so 4D)
