I 'm planning to put out smaller pieces on a regular basis but this will be my next major project. A collection of warships sufficient to build a fleet around. first up are theheavy hitters...
These are ships I am using to put together a fleet...they are not optimized for defensive operation instead focusing on heavy firepower to destroy enemy vessels as rapidly as possible. The depend on carrier-based fighters, and small 100-200 ton carrier launched attack craft as well as close escorts, and frigates for protection from missiles, torpedos fighters and small starships launched by enemy fleets. Escort destroyers and destroyer escorts provide additional fleet defense as well as light cruisers that are optimized for the fleet defense role.( those will be coming soon )
The also do not carry assault troops, boarding operations are carried out by purpose-built assault vessels. The do maintain a decent sized marine contingent and small EVA combat pods for self-defense
The lower right picture is there to explain the reason for the split down the forward hull. that is to make room for the ships spinal mounts which fire between the two projections.

Fleet Offensive Warship Classes.
These ships form the offensive formation of a fleet level formation or heavy Task force. They provide direct fire on enemy vessels Defensive and screening vessels provide protection from fighters, missiles and enemy attack craft while Offensive vessels engage in concentrated offensive operations.
fleet carriers and lighter carriers provide fighter, attack craft, and scouting craft main battle line vessels carry only a small number of small craft for transport, utility and courier duties.
Overlord Class Dreadnought:
Primary Fleet Command vessel. Forms core of large battlegroup. Heavy meson Spinal mounts are used againt other dreadnought and battleships, while multiple large fusion, missile and torpedo baysareused to engage more agile capital ships. extremely heavy armor, multiple screens and prototype black globe generators.
Extremely advanced sensors and multiple scout drones to detect and track enemy forces at range and allow fleet commander to gather tactical data as quickly as possible.
Maneuvers deliberately into optimal range for it's spinal mounts using torpedoes and missiles for long range fire beyond bay and spinal mount ranges. Dreadnoughts will seldom advance until enemy defensive screens disrupted to avoid being swarmed by smaller craft.
Odin Class Battleship
Medium Particle spinal mount, multiple Fusion Gun Bays and missile/torpedo bays for engaging battleships and heavy cruisers. Heavy armor, and screens provide protection from enemy fire. Faster than Dreadnoughts providing a maneuver formation with heavy firepower to engage in rapid attack or pursue fleeing formations.
Maneuvers aggressively to force enemy into a defensive posture, limiting enemy maneuver options move in close mutually supporting formations with other battleships under supporting fire from dreadnoughts and cruisers. Once the enemy fleet is in defensive posture battleships fix them in place and begin concentrated in cooperation with dreadnoughts on selected enemy major combatants.
Hellion Class Fast Cruiser:
Particle beam Spinal mount and large particle beam bays provide long range support fire for battleships and Dreadnoughts. Heavy armor and screens protect from hostile fire High acceleration for rapid maneuvers to support offensive maneuvers or respond to penetrations of the fleets defensive screen carries a number of assault craft and attack craft in addition to recon drones.
Maneuvers aggressively to suppress enemy screening vessels, and assist battleships in forcing the enemy into a defensive posture.. A reserve force of fast cruisers is often held back in early stages of combat to reinforce defensive units if needed to prevent enemy penetration their own defensive screen.
carried several large scout and forward observer craft as well as drones and some defensive EVA combat pods to respell boarding parties during close range engagements.
Cyclone Class Destroyer
Large fusion Bay provide the Main battery of the destroyer, various missile and self/point defense systems provide close in fire to protect against fighters and missiles. Medium armor( heavy for a destroyer) as well as screens and dampeners protect from enemy fire.
systems designed for close range engagement against cruisers, destroyers, and attack craft when attempting to breach enemy outer screen. Heavy electronic warfare systems, with point defense software to allow it to fire on missiles directed at nearby ships.
Maneuver aggressively to suppress enemy screen and engage vulnerable screening vessels to open breach for attack groups. they also may support destroyers assigned to defensive screens to prevent enemy breach of their own defensive screen and to counter flanking maneuvers by enemy attack vessels and strike craft.
If engaging cruisers they will attempt to engage with multiple destroyers firing on a single cruiser. forcing enemy to split its fire and devote additional assets to defending the exposed cruisers.
Archer Class Attack Corvette:
Extremely high acceleration heavy missile and torpedo load.heavy fusion or particle bay for direct fire engagement during attack runs against enemy capital ships and outer defensive screen.
designed for all out attack, with light armor but extremely advanced electronic warfare, and point defense software for mutual self defense during attack runs. depends on high acceleration evasion tactics, and electronic warfare to close into attack range unload it's ordnance and retreat to avoid coordinated return fire.
