Those don't quite look like SFU-compliant Star Fleet arrowheads on the side pieces, though...

(The paint job on the MB looks very nice, by the way.)

Are their SFU-compliant Star Fleet arrowheads? If so how do I find them?

Actually, even with the non-SFU arrowhead, those decals with that paint job just make the mini pop! 8) 8) 8) 8)

Did you do the decals yourself? You should also post the pics on the Federation Commander forum and the Starfleet Games BBS. They are gorgeous!

Yes, I did up these custom decals using an old Citizen Printiva 700 thermal transfer printer that I bought for the sole purpose of making Star Fleet decals (but I'll likely use it for other decals). It's a 1996 printer that uses ribbons cartridges to transfer onto the paper (a bit like old dot matrix, but better). The main reason I got it is because it accepts "white" cartridges and lets you make decals with "white". You can overlay the prints (the paper stays in the printer for multiple passes), so you can get really crisp reds, yellows, etc.

Here is an example of a laser printer sheet and a one I did for the base on the Citizen:

Mathew had told me that I was the first person outside of Mongoose to get a mobile base, because as they were filling my order, they found an extra resin one kicking around. It was pretty rough, but I was determined to make it into one of the best miniatures I've ever done.

I think I succeeded.

(I'm putting up a post on the Federation Commander forums as well).

That is truly gorgeous work. I recall you posting the raw resin picture somewhere and the quality of clean up and prep is amazing as that was a fairly raw cast.

Thanks.

Thankfully, the resin is easier to manipulate with files than the metal is. The pre-painting photos you mentioned are here: Red-24's Painted Star Fleet.
