Love for the Aliens

when for 6 months beforehand the playtesters were saying "you'll love what we have done to X" and "you think Y is good?just wait till you get armageddon" along with "yes, we fixed fighters, but you'll have to wait to find out" and so on.
In the school yard we could call it teasing.

of course then Armageddon arrived and we realised it was mostly pants!

Are we speaking the same language? "Mostly pants"? haven't heard that before, but I get the barko.

Guarantee having Drakh mothership in time for it becomming Armageddon level? Is that a good thing or a bad thing?!

well, It could mean I have 8 months to wait for a drakh mothership if you look at it from that point of view!

I never understood what the secrecy with all this stuff is. I mean I can understand some secrecy to build up the excitement, but there is a fine line between being secretive and not secretive enough. Mongoose is lightyears away from that line and is being way to secretive. They could drop us more hints and put us more in the know, and make us REALLY excited rather than blah blah blah you get the point.

I just don't like the marketing tactic...

yeah but as you said its ages away yet so what would be point in telling you all thats giong on, getting you excited then having to wait ages? plus theres alot of testing to be done between now and release anyway.

True.... I just want to know if the Brakiri can get a Brivioki model that DOESN'T look like a brick cut in half and held together by straws and drilled out to hold twin mini-subwoofers....

lol dont we all, i wish they would use a differant model for that. when modding vassal for armageddon i used one of the variant pictures you guys all made for the brivoki :)

What's so secretive about announcing forthcoming stuff? Over on a BFE thread someone was suggesting not revealing any details until a product is ready to release. Its a damned if you do, damned if you don't kind of situation. :)

Aww I was hoping it was mine. Looks like you used the big ugly beatle one(not that it isn't a good job, just that I hate the way the courami hull looks like).

I'm wondering about books. Are we talking about the Gaim and company getting released through Signs & Portents or are we talking actual fleetbooks? True, it'd be cheaper to go the Signs & Portents route...
And c'mon Matt, Just...One Li'l preview Pic. Don't even tell us what exactly is being shown, just...something to whet our appetites to the point of insanity!

Think SST Arachnids.... that said Matt has said theyre going to be somewhat different so Im guessing they will have their own ships now but hopefully will still be deadly in ground invasion/boarding actions and carry lots of troops/breaching pods.

I'm just praying that the new Gaim fleet isn't going to end up being a babylon 5 version of the Arachind transport bugs.

How about a Templeship for the Drakh?
No need for a Templeship, at least stats wise as with an Armageddon Mothership, you'll have something filling the War gap too... (not trying to tease as at this stage the details are very much in the air and we haven't really started on the Drakh yet).
