High Guard Preview 2

Hi guys,

Just to keep you going over High Guard's brief delay, we have just posted another preview of the book, this time covering a very small ship - and a very large one. . .

Wow, the first time I've seen a thread dissolve before my very eyes! I didn't even get to page 2 let alone page 3 so I can only imagine how that flame-fest developed.

Nice preview by the way. I'm very interested in the fact that you're tackling large deckplans. I very much look forward to it. But I must reiterate the previous, now deleted, post about the quality of the deckplans. I hope that's fixed before publication.

Well, first, you are looking at a low-res PDF. not print quality. That said, there is only so much we can fit on a page with ships this large, so we will also be releasing much larger deck plans as PDFs upon the book's release. You'll get the best of both worlds - a handy reference that actually fits inside a book, and a larger printable version for detailed work.

I gotta admit, a B5 Crusade style game where you have hordes of extras and lots of room on the ship for shoot outs and minor NPCs, while still going down to the planet would be awefully cool. Sounds like High Guard would have everything needed to run that kind of game.

Awesome! Having some capital ship deckplans after all these decades is a dream come true for me. I can't wait!

Indeed, Capital Ships, Large Scale Liners have largely been absent from the Traveller Universe...suggested in many supplements but never quite materializing. I had high hopes for Fighting Ships of the Imperium (the MT ships book) but instead got mainly a book of text. I am also very happy that you have retained the look of the main Mongoose Traveller rulebook, as the ships there took your breath away. Keep up the excellent work and I look forward to when the book comes my way.
