Just to let everyone know, Darrians has some content issues that have recently surfaced and so will be delayed until later this year.

AAARRRRGH!!!! :x

This one I was really looking for. :(

Now how am I supposed to role up space elves in TL16 battle bikinis?

Did I say that last item with my inner geek voice?

You can role them up any which way...just not at my gaming table...if you roll them up...well you could go to CT or GT for that.

Yeah, I too was looking forward to Space Elves a la Exhalted to appear but that is what Dragonstar is there for.

Darrians should have all the characteristics of Elven beauty without being elves. Such is the table at MTU.

Couldn't they reduce the Darrian Supplement to a 1-liner:

In their huge arrogance they played around with their sun and the race was annihilate. Centuries later human colonist, later known as the Sword Worlds settled on the planets.

More like:

One day a bunch of humans landed on the world of happy space elves. Centuries later they almost blew up the sun.

[insert a few images of Darrians for some eye candy]

Thank you!

Not being sarcastic, I really mean thank you for trying to get it right.

ROFL :D .

That aside, thanks for the heads up Matt, I was looking forward to this one.

Will the Darrians expansion include an in-depth background and history on the Darrians, like the Alien Races modules released thus far, or will they it be smaller than those?

It will be very similar to the current Alien Modules.

There's a good bit of background and history in there.

Darrians = Space Elves?

Huh? I had never made that connection with the Darrians until now, when I had to go pull out my old CT Darrians book and saw the cover illustration. How is it I've managed to go 20+ years without making that connection?

I will say that Sturn and I agree.

May the pause, cause the Darrians book to be better. (Though I'm sure I'll find things to nit-pick about. :P )

You're actually intelligent?

I noted it and disgarded it for my OTU. They were blue-skinned humanoids that were NOT another offshoot of humanity, so their society was a mix of humans and Daryens, not a "Half-Vulcan/Half-Human" hybrid.

They are only elves in space if you want them to be.

Long as they don't start calling their homeworld "Pandora" and go SWAnning about the rainforests in nobbut loincloths, I'm all right with them.

'Course, Darrian space being so much smaller than a full subsector, and that subsector already having been described in detail elsewhere, do you imagine we'll get a chance at an in-depth look at the Darrian system and a good, long, lingering glance at their homeworld as more than just a bunch of stats?

Maybe Mongoose advances and changes the timeline a bit: Shortly before the 5th Frontier War Sword World Intelligence learned that the Darrian Star Trigger was a fake. They attacked the Darrian Worlds that are currently occupied by their forces

(Actually at this point in the timeline the startrigger IS a fake iirc, details in TNE)

***Carefully looks around for any members of the Special Arm.

Well, ummm actually...

***Vanishes without a trace.

[Looks over his shoulder and leans in to the poster]
My sources say the SA have remedied the faulty Star Trigger. The real question is there an updated Star Trigger 2.0?

Another pressing issue is the story about Maghiz pulse knocking out the colonies. It has been dismissed on other forums that such an EM was impossible based on the inverse square law while allowing Darrian to remain liveable, though badly burnt.

One possible theory bantered about was the Maghiz pulse is a bit of Darrian propoganda for thier current foreign policy. The true story was the colonies fell because they were not self sufficent to sustain technology and/or survive. They were still dependent on the homeworld.

As a second non-related point and wish list item for the upcoming Darrian sourcebook. I hope they have good background and game mechanics in the integration of the Aslani Ihatei that immigrated to the Confederation, especially if there are rules for using the Darrian and Aslan books together.

So you chose space smurfs instead of elves?

Not originally, although when I did see the Smurfs, that became the rude nickname for the Daryens in my OTU.

Was a typical Darrian solution in YTU problem involved herbs and potions? Seriously, most of the American version plots had solutions and gimmicks that were drug related.

Mind you if the original Darrian write up had them more aggressive and expansionist your group could have nicknamed them Gamolans.

Does explain their threat of the Star Trigger.
