What's High Mark of the Marksman used for? Bows in combat in the game system are used in the combat table so turning a 0 into a 5 would be a reduction of the damage in ordinary combat...

Is it meant to be used for stuff like trick shooting?

Precisely. The skill is meant mostly as a trick shooting ability. For Judges wanting to add meat to the discipline, have it treat 1's as 5s for damage as well. That does not really overpower it and adds utility.

I asked myself the same question. I thought it was a misuse of the "zero is always the worst result" rule. The combat results table is the only part of the gaming system that breaks this rule. So, the way I read it was, "a one is considered to be a five." To me it doesn't make sense to have the best result on the Combat Results Table become a worse result - even in trick shooting or contest matches. If I were running a shooting contest the person that got the most damage would be closest to the bullseye.
