[In Print] Book 9: Pirates for Classic Traveller

There's a strong case to be made for emergency services. The medical rules in the LBBs are fairly basic, and were only expanded in a Journal article, not a supplement or book.

Book 911: Code Black

Do it as the advanced career for Doctors, with other emergency services as branches, maybe. The extra rules component would be an in depth treatment of... well, treatment.

The next book will be the one that someone writes and gets the nod from Matt (and Marc?) to release into the wild.

This is a solid idea. It could even be combined with Scientist/Researcher to flesh it out more.
  • CMT/Paramedic Training
  • College /University/Medical School
  • First Aid (Field Medic) vs. Diagnosis & Treatment (Genral Practitioner) vs. Surgery (Surgeon) vs. Medical Researcher
The MgT Medical Treatment rules are well integrated with the MgT wound-tracking system. It would be interesting to see something analogous done utilizing the standing CT wound-tracking paradigm.

Book 911: Code Black

Don't know if I want to wait for 910 more LBBs though . . . ;)

(Aside: For those in the UK who don't know, "Dial-911" is the American equivalent of the UK "Dial-999").

In October 1942, the 999th Light Afrika Division was formed from civilian criminals and prison inmates who had been deemed "unfit for military service". They were encouraged to volunteer on the promise that all past crimes would be wiped out by exemplary bravery in combat. However, anyone who refused to join the Bewährungstruppe (English: probation troop) would stay in prison without rights to parole, or be sent to a concentration camp.

It is a career option.

I loved the new book smell of the old books when I got them... or is it just me.

(okay, so I'll be sniffing Pirates - don't ask, don't tell.)
It doesn't smell the same as books from the early 80's.
(Or my nose isn't the same)
This one smell more woody and less flowery.

If you have visited our Reading Room you may have noticed some of the books have a white dot on the spine. This does not mean the books were bought on clearance or as factory seconds. The white dots indicate the books have gone through a process of deacidification or have been printed on acid free paper.

Acid in paper can lead to brittle pages. Left unchecked, these brittle pages continue to deteriorate until the books are unusable, literally crumbling in ones hands. The acid can come from the ground wood pulp used in fiber stock or additives such as bleach. Once books become brittle, there is no process to restore them to full strength. Deacidification attempts to remove or neutralize these harmful acids in books before extensive damage to the paper can occur.

The Library of Congress’s (LC) Preservation Directorate administers the Mass Deacidification Program which is performed under contract by Preservation Technologies. Books are put into a chemical bath which pushes alkaline into the paper, creating a buffer to any harmful acids. The bath does not damage the bindings, pages, or inks. Some readers have remarked the books “feel funny” after deacidification, however, the process does not leave any residue on the books or fingers.

My book arrived today. I opened it quickly, then something went wrong with my eyes. Things became blurry. I got real close to a mirror to check out my eyes to see what was wrong, and I saw that my pupils had reformed themselves into heart shapes.

Marketing research would indicate which one should be sellable.
Very sweet to think that market research is cost-effective, pragmatic, or vaguely useful in this industry below the level of WotC :)

Not making fun, it is just there is a whole can of worms there and I would be extremely dubious about the data it produced.

The basic rule for the past 24 years has been this: Make cool stuff we want to play ourselves, and hope there are enough people who like the sorts of games we like.

Not scientific, I admit, but it has not worked out too awfully over that time...
