BF Evo, future weapons

Pull the cord and suddenly you and your squad are cooking. It's amazing to see this stuff in person. They're all smokeless heaters, so you and your boys can sit in your hidey spot observing the enemy and be able to have hot meals!

Insane costs aside, how viable do you think the "liquid armor" concept is?

I don't know about Hiromoon, but I like it. This is getting closer to the science that SST is about where exosuits might allow a person to drop
several levels down from a building and not get injured by the "clothing" going rigid and absorbing the shock. Scarves of a sort could help armor the neck area that is normally left covered and like the article said it can increase the effectiveness of current body armor. About three years ago I bought some Haggar Freedom (tm) pants to show my computer customers that the nanotech age had come to everyday use with their no stain/no wrinkle features. Now I can add "no bleed" to that list, lol.

It's a good concept.

Could be combined with:

Wow, I just had a scary thought. What if they just went ahead and integrated it with the soldier's biology and made us into homogeneous armored organisms. They could still keep the armor Hiromoon just showed us (it looks like it has powered exo-skeletal legs as well), but just toughen up our hide- literally. Cuts, scrapes and shrapnel damage would be minimised. I mean, if they can saturate cloth maybe they can saturate flesh too. This reminds me too much of higher-density people from... Krypton :!: Weird. Life imitating art maybe?

love the armoured suit, see this is how i see infantry in the future, also reminds me a little of my paintball outfit :?

Believe it or not, they're working on some artificial blood stuff right now, to suppliment normal stuff...

True! They keep telling us that O2 carrying fluids will replace our IV's in the future in EMS.

The current incarnation of that stuff is a strange white paste sort of deal. I like the concept alot!

In addition to that they're experimenting with soundwaves to promote muscle growth....

I think your idea could be an interesting background for a superhero/villain.

its not a future weapon but it does deserve something.

the Spectre gunship, does anyone think rules/stats might be included for this nasty peice of kit?

watch the USAF Spec Ops Wing episode of firepower on sunday and all i can say is OMFG, its a flying Man'O'War, seems more naval than air force.

Call up Somalia to get their latest opinion of Spectre. I heard that at least one U.S. AC-130 gunship attacked a suspected al-Qaida training camp/area Sunday on an island at the southern tip of Somalia. If you ask them how to convert the effect into a tabletop game and want to know how many dice to use, they might say "All of them"...

Lets see.... There's currently TWO versions of the AC-130...

AC-130H Spectre:
- 2 M61 20mm Vulcan Cannon
- 1 L60 40mm Bofors Cannon
- 1 M102 105mm Howizter
(14 Total crew)

AC-130U Spooky:
- 1 25mm GAU-12 Gatlin gun (1,800 rounds per minute)
- 1 L60 40mm Bofors Cannon (100 shots per minute)
- 1 M102 105mm Cannon (6-10 rounds / minute)
(13 Total crew)

Fire Rates:
AC-130H:
- 20mm recommended burst: 1 to 5 seconds
- 40mm note: due to lethal envelope, rapid fire is recommended. Optimum burst is 3 to 4 seconds.
- 105mm is a single shot weapon

AC-130U:
- 25mm

(pause for dinner..)

Back...

Well, according to the paper work there isn't anything recommended for the AC-130U's armament...so probably uses the other recommended rates...

I would guess you'd just pick x sized area and remove anything in it from play. Military Channel had a show from Iraq showing a 2000lb bomb going off. The Stryker boys said it took out a whole block, inculding insurgents. Incredible....

Looking at the AC130....

Now who doesn't want to play the USMC Faction. :)

Nezeray

*reminder: pull AC130 model out of storage for this game.*

Just remember reading the "Friendly Fire" rules before you use it...

If I'm not mistaken they're looking into upgrading the venerable Spectre again, getting rid of the GAU-12 and the Bofors for a set of 30mm Bushmaster II's, swapping the Howitzer for a 120mm mortar, and maybe bolting on a few missiles as well 8)

You do not want to get on that thing's bad side.

The one that reads "Friendly fire, isn't."?

If your friends are in the transport behind you, who cares about what's vaporized on the ground. :)

"I love the smell of gunpowder in the morning" (yelling since a C130 isn't quiet with the doors open). :)
