BF Evo, future weapons

Not quite a battlefield ready weapon as of yet, but definatly not something beyond the realms of possibility!

Aside from the EFV and the Shaow, what new vehicles are the USMC planning to rollout? From what I can tell the LAV-25 will be phased out right about the time of the BF:E, is there a replacement planned for it?
I poked around some and all I could find was a planned 120mm Mortar upgrade for the LAV-M. That unit would be a sweet fit for this game as would some of the other support LAVs, that will probably still be in service in the scope of the game.
EDIT: I did some digging of my own and came up with some interesting info on the LAV and a potential replacement.

It is interesting that the USMC is targeting a field date of the LAV replacement, the 10-ton MEFFV, as 2024. But the current LAV service life elongation plan only supports them to 2015. So what will happen in that gap? The gap that coincides with the timeframe of BF:E. My guess would be another round of LAV upgrades to keep them serviceable until the MEFFV is ready.

Well, it sure looks like a major jump forward if it works out. Did you notice that it would work as a satellite-based missile defense system as well? I can imagine this silent weapon combined with the Shadow RST-V for a real "silent killer" combo. Obvious motto for the two together would be: Move silent, kill silent. :shock:

Just one thing about the Ramjet Hypersonic Aircraft, how exactly are you going to get the craft fast enough in the firstplace to be able to use the ram jet engine, as you have to be going at supersonic speeds, Mach 1.4 atleast, for the air compression effect to work. Sure the first pic shows a Booster but From what I can see it is just like the booster engines on the shuttle launch system, so when you want the RJHsA to come home you can't without replaceing the booster, if its a one shot wonder, or add even more fuel to the craft hence an increase in all up weight which would diminish the carry capacity of the craft.
In my opinion it would only be usefull as an attack craft, fighters and bombers, however the USAF has allready scraped a hypersonic bomber, the Valkyrie, but heh what do I know, I'm only british.

Again though how would you get the missile fast enough??
Sure Ram and Scram jet engines are the most efficient, with effiency being about 55 - 75% if my memory is correct, but its the whole air compression that is its "downfall"
A Pulse Detonation Engine is another idea is has promise but is very difficult to design due to the nature of the shape and design layout that it needs.

As long as you guys are mentioning the X-43A test vehicle, I'll toss up a pic of a model I made several years ago for my Civil Air Patrol aerospace class to show my cadets. I literally did it over a one-day span of time, stand and all. It's made to 1:15 scale. It isn't perfect, but it does pretty much represent the craft. I also converted a cardboard mailing tube and made that into the booster, heh. Adding that, it's over three feet in length.
How will the US Army feed its soldiers? Well, Nantick's got some developmental stuff out now that will just blow your socks off.
