Are the vehicles in scale with the infantry? If not, why?

From the photos the vehicles don't look to be in scale with the infantry. The vehicles look too small.

Is this correct or is it just the way it looks in the photos?

If the vehicles are indeed smaller in scale than the infantry, why is this?
