ACTA Tournament June 2011 - Warlords of Walsall!

As the attendees are rather polarised, I will try and match up members of Warlords and any non ketteringers, with members of the Kettering clan for the first round at least. The Swiss Chess format will be absolutely in use for the 3rd and 4th games; I may continued hand picked match ups for game 2, depending on how it influences draws. I'd like everyone to play somebody they've not played before, so if you find yourself playing against someone you have done before, let me know.

*edit* for simplicities sake, and not to over complicate matters, I have removed the rules regarding tracking CQ for the final scenario. This no longer applies.

Ancients, Shadows and Vorlons may not take part in this campaign at all, this tournament shall be a free zone. If your only fleet is one of these; please let me know.

general info :
Fleets and races may be different for each game; in much the same fashion as the recent kettering tournament. This seemed to be a format which most people enjoyed.

There is no requirement to submit lists prior to the date, though you may PM them to me if you wish, however I would like everyone to have a clear and concise written list prior to the start of the next game.

All P+P rules amendments apply with the exception of Centauri Hunting Packs; while Triggy's Beam system will be in operation (replacing the standard system).

Only official ship stats are to be used (except for P+P revisions) no exotic fan made productions. Proxy ships and counters are permissible, but if you use proxies, please make sure opponents are fully aware of what they are at the start of the game.

With the exception of race specific bonuses; all other ships start games with CQ4.

other business:
Sadly the Warlords cannot match the fabled hospitality of Da Boss, however tea, coffee and some soft drinks will be served throughout the day, with some snacks potentially around also. Toilet and kitchen facilities are on-site.

We have parking available outside for about 4 vehicles, please bare this in mind, if you are going to be driving down and are concerned about parking please PM me.

The location is as follows; could a member from each party please PM me a mobile number for contact purposes:

Hatherton United Reformed church, Darwall Street, Walsall, West Midlands WS1 1DA (the church parking is best approached from Hatherton road; any queries on this please PM me)

Mark, any news concerning Neil or Andrew on this one? I know that they occasionally peruse the forum, but I thought i´d see if you knew anything that would deter their attendance... It would be a shame for them to miss out again :(

Sorry I've not been checking back as regularly as I should be, busy times...

I'm confirming I'll be coming and Rick is 90% sure he can come and should know by the end of the week one way or the other.

We will be needing parking though so hope there's space (if not, I'm sure we can find somewhere to park up though).

Couple of quick questions so far:

Scenario 3 - Assassination. How do you decide who will be the attacker and who will be the defender, or do you both designate targets in the enemy fleet? And, do you keep the target a secret or not (though with some fleets it's going to be fairly obvious!)

Beyond that I think we're about set... just need to brush up on some more rules and decide what the hell we're bringing!

Excellent - see you there

We normally have that the both players have an Assassination target - Its not normally secret.............

What charles said :) lol

As far as parking goes, there is parking available, but I'll probably have to steward it. It would also be useful for those who need parking, to let me know in advance, so I can try and get everyone sorted.

Cya ya'll soon :)

Depends on who is driving Gregs boyz, but we normally park near the local cafe to get in a proper breakfast.

Sadly Alex can't now make it :(

Alas buggeration! though we should still be good for numbers!

There should be parking for at least 4 cars, so if the Kettering crew want to park for free outside the church, and walk a short distance to get breakfast, feel free. By the sounds of it Mark, Hiff, Gregz lot and Storm ryder [sorry forgot your name already lol], will make space a none issue.

Parking should be okay.

quick update, Mrs hiff hit labour very early, will need to make a late decision on the tourney although she is insisting i go :-)

I'll be driving the crew up, and, as Charles said, we'll be getting a brekkie near to the car park we usually use. 8)

Right, our current list of gamers, at the moment:
