Q-Con is the annual Gaming Convention hosted by Dragonslayers, the Queen’s University Belfast (QUB) Gaming and Anime Society. This year sees Q-Con enter its fifteenth year and we will be taking over the entire QUB Students’ Union for a weekend of gaming and anime fun, from the 27-29 June 2008!

Q-Con will feature a wide selection of games and events over the convention weekend, with Role-playing Games, Board Games, LARPs, War Games, Collectable Card Games, Console Games, PC LAN, Anime Screenings, Cosplay, Special Events, Special Guests and much more!

For those who pre-register a full weekend ticket for Q-Con will cost just £10/€14 or £5/€7 per day. Accommodation is available for just £15/€20 per night. Availability is limited, so pre-register early to avoid disappointment.

Our special guest for Q-Con will be comic artist Glen Fabry - Preacher, Hellboy, Batman and Daredevil.

SPECIAL: Pre-register before 23 May 2008 and you will be entered into a prize draw with the chance to win a Nintendo DS Lite!

We have the Dragonslayers' resident craftsman working on the Ancients Trophy as we speak, hopefully I can post some photos before the convention so you can see what you are battling for. :)

Just out of interest, what fleets were people thinking of using?

If there are an odd number of players, my Dilgar fleet will be getting a much-needed outing!

I'm thinking ISA, for ease of transport :)
Ryanair have decided to introduce charges for checking a bag into the hold, so we'll be travelling light!

The winner of this first Q-Con Ancients Tournament will be the first person to get their name on the Dragonslayers brand new trophy.

Our plans are to run a few tournaments each year, mainly because there are loads of ACTA players here but we never get to play in the Q-Con tournament because we are too busy running the thing. :p

So how did you guys find it?

Well done to Peter Crowley for winning!

The Dragonslayers are currently planning a "Day of War" event for later in the year which will hopefully combine large GW tournaments with some other popular systems including DBM and ACTA. Watch the appropriate space.

It was a laugh, but with only 6 players and general lack of enthusiasm, we only played 2 games.
Disappointed I didn't get to blat some Raiders
