ACTA: Fleet Carrier

Either it is recover/repair/rearm... in which case it has to be actually carried, or its regroup/reorganize in which case it should be any fighter in the fleet.
It's a combination of both... just like Hull value is a combination of "to hit" and "to get through armour" roll. ;)

In that case and we vote for 1 save for whitestars lol rather than 3 saves...

if it's both then the more inclusive answer must be taken... ie any fighter in the fleet, as they will use the regroup aspect...

But conversely, they can't recover flights they don't carry because they can't peform both aspects? Its no use regrouping the 2 surviving Rutarins, one of which has a smashed up weapons console...

I'd agree with Burger's concept of what Fleet Carrier actually does. I'd also read the rule to mean that a Fleet Carrier could only recover fighters that didn't require FPs to upgrade to (unless the Carrier had paid of course) to represent needing non-standard spares, training and weapons for them.

That was the last ruling we got, and a number of us agreed with it. By the rules it seems fairly clear.

In response to burger, I would say that if only two are left and one has no weapons you failed your roll. If you had made the roll the majority of the flight would have broken off and scattered under the fire and returned to the carrier as a regroup point.

This sounds like it's saying that fleet carriers can fighters even if it wasn't carrying any itself at the start of the battle, just as long as the faction has developed them (which they will have done if you have those fighters in your fleet in the first place).

After thinking about this for a couple of days, what you say above _does_ sound like the fairest and, just as importantly, _easiest_ solution to this.

Anyone spot any potential downsides or imbalances before we make this an official ruling?

And the final official ruling is!?............

Please :)
